@Dexerto That's code for "we'll introduce an ad tier". The money has to come from somewhere, and they're already in red catastrophically. You can't have an entire brand that's nothing but "loss leaders", that's just losing.
English

@mooseqt @BoringWinter225 Lol not even close. It needed 5-7x the sales it got to break even (depending on microtransactions after sale), and with sales dead in the water and over 80% of the playerbase gone after a month, that's that much less money from mx's. The game is dead unless they get 2M players.
English

@BoringWinter225 Why would I care about their profits, game has enough people to sustain
English

As much as I like marathon the number of copies sold vs the budget do be concerning
CharlieIntel@charlieINTEL
Bungie's Marathon title had a budget of over $200 million (via Forbes)
English

@anongoat360 @BoringWinter225 Even if people did but the BP, the game undersold dramatically, so the BP isn't making up that cost regardless. And worse yet the playerbase has divided and walked before the end of the first season which means not only less BPs, but less sales. Nobody's buying a dead game.
English

@BoringWinter225 It's live service with the most low effort battle pass I've ever seen that people bought anyway so I think they're doing fine
English

@TitusAwoken @BoringWinter225 On average it costs Sony about $127 million in salary for Bungie's developers. Not even counting overhead or staff. The studio alone cost them over half a billion dollars in dev salary during Marathons dev time (not including the 500 salaries that got laid off a few years ago).
English

@BoringWinter225 Marathon didn't cost 200 million to produce.
Bungie was actively making yearly D2 dlc's for the 6 years that Forbes thinks Marathon was consuming 200 million dollars.
Marathon was the PvP teams side project and effectively cost Bungie and Sony zero dollars to release.
English

@TitusAwoken @Aprifrot @BoringWinter225 Well they weren't working on D2 either. So I guess the studio was just sitting back and collecting a check. $150k/yr salary on average x 850 = more than the studios producing. They already fired 500 people a few years ago after the acquisition, what do you think Sony will do now?

English

@Aprifrot @BoringWinter225 0% chance 300 people were working exclusively on Marathon for 6 years straight...
Where do yall even get this info from?
Forbes??? Really? Like Global Warming will destroy the planet in 2016 type journalism??? Yall too gullible
English

@gamedevactual @BoringWinter225 Western studio operating in Seattle with a staff of hundreds of devs. Average dev salary at Bungie is around $150k/yr, took at least 3 if not 5 years to make, that adds up quick. Throw in VA's and contractors (the past year) and you're clearing $200M easy. Then there's marketing.
English

@BoringWinter225 Marathon is amazing but I’m struggling to find where the 200 million went. It’s not a complicated game, it doesn’t have that much content or maps, it has like 6 classes. It feels like a 50 million dollar game at most lol as far as triple A budgets go anyways.
English

@Dee_Batch @Darkflame2243 I think the point is that for $900 you only get "PC performance" relative to 5 year old hardware on games that are designed for it specifically and are 5 years or older with optimization patches in the dozens. Paying less for less, while at least on PC your performance is better.
English

is this PSSR 2.0? Lol is RT pro mode using perf or quality from 1440p-4k in CP2077? Why you using a game thats not PSSR 2.0? Whay are you not comparing Cyberpunk. that the game we are talking about. The mode is RT pro mode which is 1440p -4k. thw 4k 60fps RT mode is 1080p-4k. Once again a 5060 up-scaled to 4k RT is not an option.
English

Tired of all the nonsense. If you have a 4060 or 5060, it's not beating a PS5 Pro. you need a bit better than 5060 ti to beat the pro. You have to turn on Fake frames via FG to get higher FPS than the pro, This will increase the latency. Most PC gamers don't even have a 5060 Ti. Give credit where due. Pro is great for the price!

English

@Dee_Batch @JohnMckinnon01 @legacy4161 That's some hard cope, and the widows license is bullshit. Only people who buy from a pre-build are paying widows fees. The Pro can't RT for shit either. Took a game that's been out for nearly 6 years for there to be a relatable demo for PS5 v PC and some surfaces are still trash
English

Are you stupid? if anything, you matched it. but then 6800/7700xt cant Rt worth shit. 6800/7700Xt dont run FSR 4..Also, Pro has 2 TB SSD, not 1, so add that to the price. Add the damn Windows license too. Congrats, you built something close to PS5 Pro but with a less capably gpu wise that costs more.
English

@Dee_Batch @Michel40715696 Did you not read the description? The Pro is similar and better in some ways, but still has worse resolution, less capability, and less stability despite having "more VRAM" which is all you're focusing on. Also the RT on the pro is pixelated as shit and hard not to notice here.
English

@Dee_Batch @Vlak_on_Tech You're still ignoring the difference between what's required to run higher than 60fps. PS5 target is 60fps because that's where it caps. Anything beyond that is PSSR fake frames and it sacrifices more than a base 5060 to get there, plus it's never stable unlike a 5060. Cope
English

@Vlak_on_Tech Honestly, no trolling 5060 is not better. Simply is not. If PS5 Pro were not CPU-bottlenecked, it would be even worse for 5060. The GPU is less. Just PC has a better CPU. Still, the GPU is bottlenecked by the low Vram and raw perf. These are the facts.
English

@Dee_Batch @WereBackLibs Neither is the PS5 Pro. Optimization is the only thing separating the 2, and the PS5 has dogshit optimization because devs that aren't first party have to re-develop their game for 5+ year old hardware along with a CPU that has the output of 2015 Dell laptop.
English

@WereBackLibs That 10 GB of VRAM bottlenecks it in certain modern games at 4k. But it has raw perf. do you know that a 3080 beats a 5060 ti in raw performance too? Now sit down lol
English

@Dee_Batch @LatinLegacy The public education system let you down hard. You're a complete retard and nobody told you.
English

@TarlZaralka @LatinLegacy fsr is not frame gen lmao my gosh. interpolated frames and ML ai Upscale are not nearly the same thing lmao. go home
English

@Dee_Batch PSSR is 6 year old technology that's standard in any GPU from 2020 on. You're delusional.

English

@merlino_games Go look up the defintion of a "game" and get back to me. What you're describing are "experiences" in media, not something you actively engage with constantly with an end goal of "winning" or "beating the game". You don't listen to music or watch movies to "win" at them. Retard.
English

@PrimeVideo I thought this show got canceled for being dogshit after season 2?
English

ppl in the replies have not made it past level 10 and it shows
“yall cant be friendly to a new player?” mf this is level based matchmaking, if i’m level 100 my rooks in christ are level 120 with the most devious strategies imaginable

What did you think this was? Arc Raiders?
English

@degebutevil @AileInTheValley Wow. Another furry. This game collects the most pathetic human specimens.
English

@AileInTheValley calling it now before all the marathon haters go on and glaze this game calling it different and innovative cause nikita made it🤦♂️
English

So Marathon, but with none of the cool aesthetics, no interesting guns and made by the people who brought us one of the most easily cheated games on the market.
Julia@Julia_CaSsian
The Tarkov creator just announced a new sci-fi online multiplayer extraction shooter called Fragmentary Order. It's not my kind of game but it seems interesting: remotely operated clones infiltrate different locations in the solar system and enhance biotech mods
English

@AileInTheValley Oh no, another upset Maratroon with bad taste. And a furry? Jesus wept, you have a sad fake existence.
English

Marathon may not be perfect, but it's a bold, cohesive, and thrilling extraction shooter that stands tall among its peers and deserves a fairer shake. gamerant.com/marathon-great…
