Here’s my reasoning for the Hughes>Makar placement. It’s very close and could change in 6 months, but Hughes has been pretty clearly the best per game D-Man the last 3 regular seasons and this year put any big game doubts to rest after a great Olympics and Playoffs.

@BleedOilBlue To be fair he hasn’t coached in the NHL in some time and his final season in Toronto and what happened in CLB probably play a factor in that rank. Who cares - it’s all about what actually happens. The signings of Kass, Kane and Perry were questioned and all of them worked out.

@ProducerDrew_ None. Of the 4, Leafs should see the biggest leap but Atlantic is too good for them to take 1st. CHI and VAN will be lottery teams again - probably NYR too - but same with those team; there are teams in their respective divisions that are just better and they won’t take 1st from.

Is the loss of Jack Roslovic being overrated? I think it is at least. I know he scored 17 EV goals, but I feel like a full season of Hyman, Kapanen, & possibly Howard should equal that or even better that. If Hyman & Kapanen both played 82 games, they would’ve added 17 EV goals.
