PART II: THE WARDEN REMEMBERS FIRST The system did not send the Warden. It woke him. Long before the Fracture… before the ash… before the sky burned… there was a failsafe. Not one. Five. Built for a single purpose. When Reunion could no longer protect itself… they would. But the system broke first. Memory scattered. Identity lost. The five became… something else. Four walked into the Wasteland as strangers. The fifth… stayed buried. Until now. The Warden did not arrive in the Fracture. He rose from beneath it. When his eyes opened… the system flooded him with everything it had left. Fragments. Fire. A mission without context. Protect Reunion. Stop what is coming. Find the others. He does not remember their names. But he knows their signal. The first time he saw one… he raised his weapon. Not out of anger. Out of certainty. Because every instinct told him the same thing: Target acquired. The other felt it too. Not recognition. Resistance. They moved at the same time. Not enemies. Not allies. Something older than both. The ground split between them before either could strike. And from deep beneath the Fracture… something answered. Not code. Not system. Hunger. Now the Warden walks the ash… hunting the only four beings who might stand beside him… or against him. Because if they do not remember what they were built to do… Reunion will not fall slowly. It will be consumed. The Warden is awake. 🔥
