@RealBSP3 @us_connie I had a aussie locker on a toyota it sucked. Sounded like it was exploding all the time. Then I got the grizzly which is a knock off Detroit trutrac and it was awesome. If you drive around with a spool or whatever you will eventually break a axle.

@us_connie That's called, among other things, a "lunchbox locker". It's not a fix. It's done to cause both axles to rotate at the same rate under all conditions. It's the cheapest way to get a locking differential. You can't really drive on the road, but it's intended for off road.
