Bowen doesn't have a trick, nothing to shake his marker when matched stride for stride. Good when in space and has enough time to get a shot in and, tbf, has improved on weaker right foot. But struggles if he has to actually dribble past a defender. Lack of upper body movement.

Lucky to be one down. Someone tell 'em to liven up because we're in a relegation battle. 3 unmarked Villa players stood like statues on edge of bix, no-one alert enough to close down McGinn, who scores with a sidefoot from 20 yds. AWB in a Sunday trance, Soucek marking space. FFS

@1westhamfan His starting position is wrong. He's a few yards off his line and slightly ahead of his near-post (a better angle of this is shown from camera behind the goal). Hence, he can't backtrack sufficiently to tip ball over bar. His first job is to defend his goalline.

I donโ€™t agree. Where was he supposed to position himself? If he had come closer to the near post, he wouldโ€™ve even been more susceptible to the chip. And if he had taken a couple steps back towards the far post, he wouldโ€™ve left his near post open. He was positioned to cover a potential cross, as well as to prevent a near post shot and a cut back towards the middle. The fact is heโ€™s not the tallest goalkeeper and has been caught out vertically a couple of times this season. You canโ€™t fault him for not having the greatest reach; those are just his physical dimensions.

A little late posting this, but Iโ€™m in the USA and I was busy w/a friend all day. Just watched the game on record. See below. I absolutely blew a gasket when I saw the lack of effort AWB put into any recovery after losing the ball in midfield. He needed to get back into his position on the right side channel to cover that gap but didnโ€™t. A freaking jogging masterpiece. Absolutely unacceptable, particularly when his teammates were running their asses off for each other. @jackelderton @danwoff98

I think there is something wrong with my connection as for some reason despite weeks of coverage on the BBC of Angela Raynerโ€™s tax affairs I donโ€™t seem to be able to find a big @BBCNews story on Richard Ticeโ€™s tax affairs. Does anyone have any IT advice so I can read it?

Totally deserved point that feels like a win. Everyone played his part in defending like warriors. Bodies on the line. Mavro has taken a lot of stick but he's now putting in heroic performances. Credit to Nuno too. First time we've been out of the bottom 3 since December 3.

Played some good stuff at times. Love how Fernandes receives the ball on the half-turn and plays one or two-touch. Disasi is a rock of a good loan signing. Bowen's right foot improving. Soucek good & strong in both boxes. Credit him & Mavro for stepping up to take perfect pens.

Summerville does it again. Sublime shimmy and finish - and credit Bowen for winning the ball and setting it up. Hermansen also earned his corn tonight. Forest's shock draw at City underlines the importance of our win at Fulham.
