@GapCA I’m really disappointed in the options for boys winter coats. I’m all for dressing my sons in “girl” clothes but bright pink or green with giant hearts for way less than solid “boy” colours isn’t fair. Why do boy clothes cost so much more??
@EricaD686@JustinLavvs@EmergencyInfoBC So witty Erica. Hyuck Hyuck. Yeah, especially those Boomers who have had grandchildren involved in an Amber Alert. NOTHING connected to an Amber Alert is funny.
@AVancity259@EricaD686 No Danny, a loud alarm near a suspect puts people in danger.
There is absolutely no reason for the alarm to be loud or terrifying. They can at least increase the intensity of alarm gradually, not blast it full volume immediately.
Yea, these may annoy you, may wake you up during the nights. These alerts are issued due to a parents worst fear. So put on your big boy or girl pants and have some empathy for the parents and fellow human beings. #AMBERAlert
@JustinLavvs@EmergencyInfoBC Unbelievable to want to improve a system?
Can you imagine if our news stations on TV made that noise when alerting us to the Amber alert? Boomers would lose their minds.
Other countries have AA that work great with different sounds/volumes
@ve7wnk@EmergencyInfoBC The chance of the alert making a difference to someone within their home looking at it immediately is slim to none.
Outside the home could make all the difference.
Many of us are on our phones frequently at home anyways. We don’t need such a jarring sound
@EricaD686@EmergencyInfoBC Imagine instead of it waking your kids, it had your kids names. Your few seconds of discomfort are a fair trade for the absolute horror the people who love these children are feeling.
@bbcrzyfan@Ridling_Ritalin@AVancity259 The public has no right to know the details. They’ll be on the internet forever attached to those kids’ names.
Trust that the police are doing their job, trying to make sure the children are safe.
This will inevitably go through the court system where evidence will be 1/
@Ridling_Ritalin@AVancity259 Why should phones be far away from a child? How far?
Are you saying the Amber alert system is perfect and should never be improved?
I’m grateful for the AA system. But there can definitely improvements made to it
@EricaD686@AVancity259 Your a troll or a bot. No decent mother would complain about a system that helps saves innocent and helpless little children. But I suppose it would be different if it was your kids, hypocrite. Also your phones and devices should be far far away from a sensitive developing child.
@AVancity259 I’m not suggesting a quieter sound when outside the home.
There could definitely be improvements made to the notification system. Our phones know when we’re at home and when we’re out. It wouldn’t be hard to put an option in for a softer sound when we’re on home wifi
