The packages that you have in SteamOS is no different than what is available on Debian, Fedora, Arch, Nix, etc.
I replaced SteamOS with Jovian-NixOS and I can play all my favorite games without any issues.

YouTube is escalating its crackdown on ad blockers.
Many users report that comment sections now appear as "turned off" on videos, and video descriptions are missing entirely.
The issue stems from ad blocker detection; disabling the extension immediately restores both features.
No reliable workaround exists yet beyond turning off ad blockers or subscribing to Premium.

@wavywebsurf YouTube Premium is a giant scam. Adblock has always been free, and Google wants to abuse their browser monopoly to kill it so that they can scam everyone into paying for something that has always been free. I will never be scammed by this no matter how many people shill for it.

@Pirat_Nation Guys, just pay for the YouTube Premium. It's actually a really really good deal lol. You get YouTube music as well and not pay for Spotify, offline videos, no ads, PIP mobile, and you can get a family plan and split the plan with 5 other people. It's a no brainer subscription.

I created a NixOS container to increase security when playing older titles
What I found was surprising:
Games in the container achieve BETTER performance than on the host! 🎮🐧
The combo of Gamescope and Nix caching allows for isolation with little overhead! 🤯
