@SwuishyTofu Nothing about Snape required him to be white. He was described as white because he was conceived as white. If the author, screenwriter, producers, and investors don't care, why do you? Why do you NEED Snape to be white, when it was not at all central to his character concept?

Paapa Essiedu is a great actor but this is the wrong role.
Get him in another - Remus, Kingsley, etc - because he's talented but he doesn't match the physical description for Snape in the slightest.

We don’t talk about it because it’s seen as deeply shameful and emasculating as a culture, but there’s enormous numbers of emotionally neglected, socially-stunted men out there dealing with the trauma of an upbringing that punished activities and play that aid developing emotional intelligence and emotional control.
I can’t tell you the number of times I’ve spoken to a man that not only can’t label the emotion he’s feeling, but feels deeply distressed by the idea of vocalising it or seeking help.

They are falling back on the claim that there was no issue with including men in these services until nasty feminists got angry. Actually, as the new alliance & the foundation of Beira's Place shows, there was plenty of dissent for a very long time in the services, despite the messages from "head office". If it was such a "manufactured" problem why was there a disastrous fall out when they put a man in charge of Edinburgh RC? The Wadhwa debacle is proof enough that the "no issues" line was always a lie.

I can already tell this is going to take off. I'm not making some grand claim here. It just seems like I am because our culture is permissive to multiple long-term partners. But your brain barely knows the difference between that person you were in a five-year relationship with and your spouse of five years. There are negative, detrimental neurocognitive effects you can research that explain why repeated attaching/detaching is bad for both men and women.
