“A former prison governor accused John Swinney of leaving Scotland without a female-only prison by refusing to implement a landmark legal ruling.
Rhona Hotchkiss warns “women’s rights are being breached” because ministers have failed to act on a Supreme Court judgment in April that sex is defined by biology in the Equalities Act.
Hotchkiss, who ran Cornton Vale in Stirling until 2017, said: “If the prison service doesn’t get these biological males out of women’s prisons they cannot call these women’s prisons.”
