An electric bicycle crashed into one of my vans this morning. Broke a red light. No insurance. No number plate. He sped off Driver of van in shock. Damage to van ~€2k+ I’m all for cyclists and scooters but they should be insured like everyone else & have number plates. Any small business with vans on the road are getting crushed atm. Diesel and tolls keep rising. Cant drive through the city. Insurance premiums have not come down despite what the Govt say. Cost of repairs is astronomical and take months. Small genuine honest businesses are being driven out. It’s very sad. 😔

I am concerened that the proposed Living Streets plan will put the future of Dún Laoghaire businesses in the George’s St area at risk and will make it difficult for citizens to access our County town. In my view, weekend-only pedestrianisation might be a compromise solution.
