Well it is official now.. I want to again express my sincere appreciation to President Donald J. Trump @POTUS for nominating me to lead NASA, and to the United States Senate--and Chairman Cruz @tedcruz - for their diligence and fairness throughout the confirmation process. I am grateful to Secretary Duffy @SecDuffy for his leadership as Acting Administrator during this transition, and to my wife Monica, my family, my friend Senator Sheehy @TimSheehyMT and everyone who offered their support along the way. As I step into this role, I make these personal commitments: – Mission: I will champion the bold objectives of human space exploration, scientific discovery, and a thriving orbital economy that ensures America’s leadership in space. We will never again give up our capabilities to reach for the stars, and we will never settle for second place. – Integrity: I will serve responsibly, transparently, and without personal gain, covering every cost I am legally permitted to, and fully adhering to my ethics agreement. My loyalty is to my country, my President, and the space agency that has inspired me since I was a child. – Urgency: I will intensely focus the agency on achieving the near-impossible, the very reason NASA was established in the first place. We will eliminate the bureaucracy that impedes progress and empower the best and brightest to take ownership, move quickly, accept smart risks, and act with a relentless focus on mission success. – Inspiration: Every launch, every scientific breakthrough must inspire the next generation to dream bigger, to reach higher, and believe that anything is possible. Haven’t seen this mentioned, so wanted to highlight that your 7% LAE-ratio is much more impressive than you’re taking credit for, considering that pet (much higher claim frequency) makes up ~1/3 of your IFP. Obsessing over user-experience / automation unlocked leading NPS + Operational Efficiency (before economies of scale!).. Growth, flywheels & network effects are fun.. & insurance’s price elasticity is high😉 Well executed, Shai & team!

And to the best and brightest at NASA, and to all the commercial and international partners, we have an extraordinary responsibility--but the clock is running. As Exec Chair, the hand-to-hand combat of earnings day falls to @tlaubers -- but I am proud of the @Shift4 team for delivering another quarter of record results. We do things very differently and like usual--it takes the market time to figure it all out. Hard to believe it has been 5 years since our first earnings report as a public company: - Q2 2020: ~$4B in volume → Q2 2025: ~$50B - From 1 country to processing across 6 continents - $14.8M adj. EBITDA → $205M - From mostly restaurants → now we are #1 in sports stadiums, #1 in hospitality, #2 in restaurants and rapidly growing in luxury retail & ecommerce. - Most of the top luxury retailers, sports stadiums, theme parks and hotels/resorts you would want to visit are Shift4 customers. - $150B customer pipeline → now advantaged w/over $1T in volume to monetize (not counting the addressable market our products serve) - I was asked in 2020 by an investor where we would be in 5 years. I said tracking toward $1B in EBITDA. Our 2025 guidance midpoint is just under $980M (not including SmartPay). Thanks to a great team and a lot of hard work - that prediction is looking pretty accurate. This is the #Shift4Way. We picked the verticals we aim to conquer, and we are unapologetically running a playbook refined over 26 years in business. With strong FCF, low leverage, and plenty of firepower--we are going to be winning this game for a very long time.

If our retro-futuristic diner turns out well, which I think it will, @Tesla will establish these in major cities around the world, as well as at Supercharger sites on long distance routes. An island of good food, good vibes & entertainment, all while Supercharging!

I am incredibly grateful to President Trump @POTUS, the Senate and all those who supported me throughout this journey. The past six months have been enlightening and, honestly, a bit thrilling. I have gained a much deeper appreciation for the complexities of government and the weight our political leaders carry. It may not always be obvious through the discourse and turbulence, but there are many competent, dedicated people who love this country and care deeply about the mission. That was on full display during my hearing, where leaders on both sides of the aisle made clear they’re willing to fight for the world’s most accomplished space agency. The President, NASA and the American people deserve the very best--an Administrator ready to reorganize, rebuild and rally the best and brightest minds to deliver the world-changing headlines NASA was built to create. I have not flown my last mission---whatever form that may ultimately take--but I remain incredibly optimistic that humanity’s greatest spacefaring days lie ahead. In November of 2020, @BMT094 DMd me on X (then Twitter), telling me she was a new follower, Tesla investor, and Model 3 owner. Fast forward to early 2021 and we were talking to each other on the phone every night for hours, sometimes until 5 AM. About a year later, and after a few long in person visits, she did something only a crazy person would agree to do: she quit her job in California and moved from Santa Barbara to New Hampshire to live with me full-time. She had never experienced a true winter and had never seen a snowstorm. Boy, was she in for a rude awakening lol. One night it hit -23°F (-52°F with wind chill). Fortunately for me, she stuck around! In the coming days, we get married! It's been an amazing journey these past 4+ years together—and so much more to come! Thanks for always being there for me and being my biggest supporter. I am new to politics and learning by the day, but one thing is clear—Senators on both sides of the aisle care deeply about @NASA and its inspiring mission to lead the free world in the peaceful exploration of space.
