A railway company in Japan once ran out of money to pay a stationmaster. So they gave the job to the cat who lived outside the station. She wore a custom made hat, worked for cat food, and saved the entire line. Her name was Tama. She was a calico cat who had spent her days sitting near the entrance of Kishi Station in Wakayama Prefecture, Japan, greeting passengers anyway. When the company destaffed the station in 2006 to cut costs, the president visited to discuss what to do about the stray cats living nearby. He looked into Tama's eyes and later said they conveyed a sense of purpose as strong as any of his employees. He made her stationmaster. Within a month passenger numbers rose by seventeen percent. People began travelling from across Japan just to see her. Tourists arrived from other countries. A French documentary crew came to film her. The station was eventually rebuilt in the shape of a cat's face. In her eight years as stationmaster Tama contributed an estimated one billion yen to the local economy. She was promoted four times. She eventually held the title of Honorary President of the railway. The only female in a senior position in the entire company. When she passed away in 2015 over three thousand people attended her funeral. She was given the posthumous title Honorary Eternal Stationmaster and enshrined at a nearby Shinto shrine as a goddess. The position of stationmaster at Kishi Station is still held by a cat today.

Going to war with a country, then immediately floating the idea of lifting sanctions on its oil to prevent your own economic collapse, is the definition of strategic failure

America is a global bully, that’s it. They have no power when you simply stop letting them bully us. Europe needs a backbone and to tell America to fuck off. We will not send Europeans to die in a pointless forever war. Threaten us with Greenland, we aren’t dying for you.

I am begging someone, anyone to clean up the disability fraud in the VA. This guy was a Navy reservist who went to school for the Government and got out after 2 years with disability benefits for anxiety and depression. This has to end.

Iran seems to be following a strategy of unveiling more and more impressive military capabilities as the war goes on. They just fired long-range ballistic missiles at Diego Garcia, one of the most strategically significant U.S. military bases in the world (hosting B-52 bombers, nuclear subs, etc.), nearly 5,000km away from them in the middle of the Indian ocean 👇. Diego Garcia has never been hit before in any war in its 5 decades of existence, and no-one knew Iran had these types of capabilities (Iran themselves said their ballistic missile range was limited to 2,000 kilometers). Two days ago, they also took down an "unkillable" F-35 fifth-generation fighter jet, something which has never happened before (militarywatchmagazine.com/article/footag…). They've also managed to take control of the world's most strategic oil chokepoint, and have proven they can hit any strategic target in the wider Middle-East, even the most protected ones (such as Israel's Haifa oil refinery: aljazeera.com/news/2026/3/19…). All in all, it sounds almost unbelievable but Iran appears to have a genuine form of escalation dominance over the United States military, with its trillion dollar budget. In a very real way, it's even more impressive than Vietnam or Afghanistan: those countries resisted a superpower, Iran appears to be competing with one. It also makes you think: what comes next? And that's exactly what escalation dominance is all about: keep raising the stakes until the other side blinks. It's about making Trump think "wait, I thought I was picking a fight with the skinny kid and turns out he's Bruce Lee."

It’s bizarre how dems show nothing but contempt and disrespect towards Christianity but are happy to grovel and gush over radical Islam, a religion that would happily put them in a fucking trash bag and remove them from school/professions. wtf is wrong with liberal women?

I just tried to fast track a bill to pay TSA workers NOW. Sadly, Republicans in DC keep blocking it. We all agree that TSA should be paid so what is the hold up? This is insanity.

That threatens Europe. Sounds like the Trump administration was onto something when citing the dangers of #Iran's regime's missile program--over which it refuses to negotiate--to justify Operation Epic Fury. This isn't only about #Israel. Also when Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei was alive, he had limited the missile range to 2000 km. Khamenei once recalled in 2018 that the #IRGCterrorists had requested he increase the range to 5000 km. But he refused. Fast forward to today after Khamenei's death, this clearly shows the IRGC is running the show. x.com/JasonMBrodsky/…

The Khorramshahr-4 is likely the intermediate-range ballistic missile that Iran used in the attempted attack on Diego Garcia, which analysts had previously assessed may have a range of +4,000km, though it had only been proven at between 2,000-3,000km. Such an attack would suggest that the Khorramshahr-4, which can carry a cluster and other unconventional warheads, could be used by Iran to strike almost the entirety of Europe, possibly as far as France and the United Kingdom.

As someone who works in diplomacy, I find it insulting that Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi, with over 30 years of diplomatic experience and a PhD, has to issue a statement in response to the US Secretary of War Crimes Pete Hegseth, who used to be a television host.

🗿 Woe to those who dwell upon the earth 🗿
If Iran can hit Diego Garcia, they can hit where our B-52s are taking off in the UK, and anywhere else we use on the continent. This means the fact that they don't is a policy choice.
