I lost my dad in 2024. That changed everything. I’m George, 32, an accountant from the UK 🇬🇧. After years of watching friends and family live paycheck to paycheck with no emergency fund, I decided I didn’t want that life for my family — especially now with my 1-year-old son. My current net worth is £115k. I started investing in 2017, and my goal is simple: grow it every year while still enjoying life — not just grinding. Money isn’t the end goal. Freedom, time with family, and peace of mind are. I want to set my son up for a stronger future. Inflation is quietly stealing our wealth, houses are getting further out of reach, and wages aren’t keeping up. ‘Playing Monopoly without investing is a guaranteed way to lose.’ I’m resetting my page to document my real journey to financial freedom — practical investments, useful tech, and lessons learned along the way. If you’re also trying to build a better future without sacrificing today, drop a 🔥 or comment “Let’s go” below. Welcome to the journey.

Net Worth. How do you calculate it? Net Worth = Total Assets - Total Liabilities Add up all your Assets: Property Bank balances + Cash Investments Pensions Vehicles Valuables The subtract all your Liabilities: Mortgage Loans Credit Card Debt And then you are left with your Net Worth. Personally I exclude Student Debt as it’s more of a tax than a debt currently. The outstanding balance is irrelevant. What’s your net worth?

GM and Happy Sunday! Another green start to the day, seems like the market has been less volatile recently with just 2% swings. How is everyone today?

£10,000 into a Stocks & Shares ISA at 25. Leave it 40 years. Don’t touch it. At 7% real returns → £150,000 in today’s money. No side hustle. No extra contributions. Just time doing its thing. The hardest part is the first decision. Everything after is free.

£10,000 sitting in a savings account. Here's the most tax efficient way to deploy it. Priority order: → 3 months expenses in easy access savings first. Non negotiable. → Remaining £6-7k straight into Stocks & Shares ISA. → Buy VWRP or VUAG. Global or US index fund. → If under 40: £4,000 into LISA first. Government adds £1,000 instantly. → Automate £200/month going forward. Never stop. What not to do: → Leave it in a current account earning nothing → Put it all in crypto → Wait for the perfect moment £10,000 invested today at 10%: → Worth £174,000 in 30 years. The best time to deploy it was yesterday. The second best time is today.

Former crypto degenerate turned boring index fund investor. £41k in my Stocks ISA. Up £6,753 overall. No moonshots, just compounding. This account is my accountability partner. Nothing too extravagant. not financial advice

Why do so many good and genuine accounts on FinX get suspended? I genuinely don’t understand.

@QuietWealth_UK 28500 take home / year - 2400 rent = 26000. Let's say she saved 20k/year (the absolute bare minimum of spending), she worked at 35k for 5 years. Which job pays 35k at 17 years (or 30k at 17 and pay increase of 2k/year more or less)? 🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔

🇬🇧 Quiet Wealth | UK Investor
A 22-year-old woman posted on Reddit this week. £35k salary, lives at home, £200/month rent. Side hustles in the evenings. Three years of relentless discipline. She hit £100,000 invested. A local news site picked up the story and the comments were brutal. "She had help." "Not realistic." "Must be nice." "Good for her, I guess." She didn't win the lottery or inherit money. She just saved and invested aggressively for three years while most people her age were spending it. The most interesting part of the story wasn't the £100,000. It was how many people were angry that someone else had managed it. Build quietly, the noise is always loudest from people who haven't started.

@QuietWealth_UK In the UK people love to pull down those who try. It saves them trying. Aspiration is the only poverty in the UK

@GMFinX I dont know why we didn't but it is actually awfully close. Hard to call. The perspective makes it intuitively seem offside.

This looked offside in Switzerland vs Qatar. Wonder why we didn’t get to see the graphic to prove it was onside?
