@auspost why is that an express post package, sent over a week ago from Melbourne to Brisbane, doesn't leave Melbourne, and yet the app tells me I can't query it for two weeks? Frustrating experience.

@auspost Just watched guy pull up in his van, walk to my letterbox, drop a card and drive off. Apparently I "was not in attendance", and am now supposed to drive to my LPO to collect my package. Which I am LEGALLY and PHYSICALLY incapable of doing with my broken ankle. Shameful!

@Suncorp how much longer do your customers have to wait to be able to send OSKO payments via Internet Banking? A quick search found that all of these competitors (and no doubt more) are offering it: Westpac, ANZ, NAB, Bendigo Bank and St George

@Frenck This is the main reason I sold my Ender 3, before even doing a single full print. Realised I don't have time in my life for any more full-on hobbies. :( I'll get one again when they're as click-and-print as a laser printer.

OK, see learnings after spending 1,5 day looking at a 3D Printer, Cura, and endless amounts of blogs, subreddits, forums and other stuff... Yeah... It definitely isn't click-n-print level yet 😂

@AlSweigart While you're unlikely to change your take on these rules, thanks for letting me clarify the history of missionary <-> family communication. And thanks for your python book — a fantastic resource.

@AlSweigart I do feel that you're ignoring the centuries old mainstream religious traditions that have required all sorts of sacrifices in the name of religious service by monks, nuns, priests, etc. In light of those, most of these rules are relatively mild.

@AlSweigart and you're right - the online document doesn't appear to have been updated from when the handbook was last printed in 2010.

@AlSweigart To be fair, your question kept changing. I answered early on, only to have you disagree based on the article. As implied in an earlier reply, Mormon missonaries are expected to follow strict rules for the period of their service. Not quite monk-like, but obviously close enough.

@AlSweigart To be fair, Mormon missionary service is a very strict commitment. Not quite monk-like, but still a strict religious devotion, with many rules. It differs in that it is a limited-time commitment unlike the monastic commitment of many serving in older religions.

@AlSweigart Sure, I'll take my experience as a former Mormon missionary, with family members serving as recently as this year, and you can take your Fox News article. Peace out.

@AlSweigart To clarify, I'm not trying to minimize, rationalise or justify anything. Just point out that the Mormon church *encourages* missionaries to keep in touch with their families every week that they're away. Formerly that was via letter or email, and now it's via phone.

@AlSweigart I'm not sure how often similarly aged young adults who are away from home (university, gap year, backpacking, etc.) call or write to their families back home, but I'd be surprised if they all do it weekly.

@AlSweigart Mormon missionaries are encouraged to write/email families back home at least weekly. This change, which happened 18 months ago, simply meant that they could call weekly too.
