UPDATE: Edmonton police are asking for the public’s help after two 14-year-old girls were allegedly approached by multiple East Indian men in a van in southwest Edmonton, according to the girls’ parents. Police say the girls were walking near 18A Avenue SW and Rutherford Road SW around 8 p.m. on June 14 when they were followed and approached by several males in a grey Chrysler Pacifica. The men allegedly yelled at the girls and attempted to lure them into the vehicle while driving erratically with the side door open. The girls ran away and a passerby called 911. The van, described as a grey Chrysler Pacifica with heavily tinted windows, was last seen travelling northbound on Rutherford Road and later near James Mowatt Trail and 17 Avenue. Police say there were five to six males inside, believed to be between 30 and 40 years old. Investigators also believe a second silver vehicle may have been involved and have identified a person of interest. The story was first reported on YEGWAVE.
