Mississippi is the nations poorest state with a a massive population of descendants of slaves. It really should not be outperforming a state that has Silicon Valley and Hollywood… x.com/jinboyman/stat…
jin@jinboyman

@ZaidJilani His argument does not take into account the nuance of california’s unique demographics as result of being both a border state and the largest economy. The more this man talks the less I like him.

@MatthewFoldi @Heminator In America’s defense, we subsidize health care to a far greater degree than any other country in the world, along with spending the most on defense. Thats why we have a $2 trillion deficit!

@ryanburge So I assume this means that Trump supporters are more likely to report being 'happy'?

People who attend a house of worship in person more than once a week are about twice as likely to self-report that they are "very happy" compared to those who never attend religious services.

The type of high school senior that is the most likely to be a weekly church attender? It's those one who earned A grades. That's been true every year since 1976. Better academics <--> More religiously active.

Editor's note: Veronica is just making shit up, per the usual. Can't quote because I'm blocked. A cursory search of PubMed shows that inhaling CO2 for just 15-20 minutes (7.5% concentration) increases heart rate and blood pressure, as well as ratings of anxiety and fear and other subjective symptoms associated with an anxiety state (PMID: 15782425). Other research has shown that inhaling CO2 (6.5%) reduces cognitive performance, especially reasoning tasks, and increases feelings of irritability and discomfort (PMID: 3114218). In fact, CO2 inhalation has been used as an experimental model to induce panic attacks for study, and too high of levels will literally kill you (PMID: 22632467).

@ChuckGafvert @Radiolab And yet Biden only had 1 untruth in the debate for every 3 that Trump told. Only the right wing propaganda machine thinks someone else was in charge.

@Radiolab This is a fascinating episode; please re-run with the inaugural of EVERY president. Ted Lieu's statement about "Presidents elected... who go to advanced age and get Alzheimer's" was disturbing in light of Biden's clear impairment last year. Who was actually in charge?

During his training to be a missile launch officer, Harold Hering asked a simple question. The mere asking of it pretty much ruined his life. And, he didn't even get an answer to this question that he felt could impact the existence of everyone on Earth. lnk.to/radiolab!x

It is pretty amazing how fast the economy turned around. Given how many articles the @washingtonpost did on feelings about the economy before the election, will we get as many about why the GoP lying about the economy will make polling rebound super fast? @byHeatherLong

@FiveThirtyEight Do we have a decent breakdown of white men by age cohorts 2020 to 2024? My guess is there is one of the few bright spots for Dems among older white men. Unless I'm misreading something, seems like they moved more toward Harris, than they were for Biden. Hoping my math is right.
