This of your is gobbledygook.
The author's criticism and quote from the Catholic Encyclopedia make clear twhat you obscure.
The Syllabus is part of a larger compendium of papal teaching against liberalism. It provides distinct clarity about the issues it cites.
Anything else is just silly deflection.
English

@EVR_Forge @StMichael71 @wcgrimley It tells you what errors are covered by which document and where to look for more information on them.
It is not a list of exact definitions.
English

@Gudabeg @StMichael71 @wcgrimley What you are actually saying is that the Syllabus is worthless, which in light of subsequent papal teaching with which it fully agrees. is nonsense.
English

@EVR_Forge @StMichael71 @wcgrimley St Newman is correct in reminding us to look to what the syllabus refers to to find the original context and full nuanced statements of the Pope, not to take summaries on their own.
And worse, to simply word match them to later documents without examination.
English

@EVR_Forge @StMichael71 @wcgrimley So you have to describe exactly what is meant by each document and see if they mean the same thing and if there is a contradiction.
Even in the articles you cite, the author errors by acting as if the syllabus’ short summary was the same as the nuanced statement in Quanta Cura
English

@EVR_Forge @StMichael71 @wcgrimley From St Newman
You have to ascertain exactly what the document the syllabus referred to condemned, not act as if the summary is self-sufficient

English

@StMichael71 @wcgrimley SSPX does not "reject the Council" and all it includes.
SSPX rejects certain passages as (at least) theologically ambiguous.
To keep harping on them to "accept the Council" does not solve this problem logically, theologically or in justice or charity.
For example, take this one:

English

@EricRSammons Accept
Nicea 1-2
Constantinople 1-4
Ephesus
Chalcedon
Lateran 1-5
Lyons 1-2
Vienna
Constance
Florence
Trent
Vatican 1-2
Where on that list did I become an “ideologue”?
English

@dejaoftexass Yep! And not taking risks is how you miss opportunities (ask me how I know)
English

@Gudabeg Exactly! The whole point is that dating isn’t easy & you gotta get a little uncomfortable from time to time, trials & tribulations typa deal.
English

So we’re expecting men to do all the heavy lifting in the dating scene while they get pelted with rejections (either legit or “playing hard to get” games), and infantilizing women, stripping them of all responsibility.
At that point just bring back bridal kidnapping.

I understand the frustration men feel when women give extremely subtle hints But expecting them to change is like expecting gravity to change Women will always be demure just like gravity will always be 9.8 m/s2
English

@dejaoftexass I myself am shy but own up to the fact it’s made me single for longer, and am trying to overcome that.
I don’t comprehend admitting it kept you single and then shrugging and saying “that’s just how it is, the other sex has to deal with it”
English

@Gudabeg Like if that’s how women want to be then fine, but don’t cry about the consequences of being treated like a shy toddler because you’re acting like one.
English

Girl calm down. You’re just a tomboy.
Liking/disliking “girl toys” does not make you trans. Not enjoying dresses doesn’t mean you’re a guy.

@joshrogin @davereaboi this tweet insults intelligence.
Address the point that Vance's claim that people who are sceptical of this "MOU" simply wants to see every Iranian bombed to death
English

Just contemptible demagoguery. No wonder he gets along with Tucker Carlson.
America First Policy Institute@A1Policy
🚨 Vice President @JDVance SLAMS critics of the Iran peace deal: "They want this to go on until every bomb has been dropped, or until every Iranian is dead. That is not what the President of the United States wants"
English

@TheUnap16592593 @CatholicSat Replace “Vatican 2” with “Vatican 1” and “SSPX” with “Old Catholics” and you’ll see the error in reasoning
English

@CatholicSat So if I understand correctly, Pope Leo XIV, just made clear that the post-conciliar is not congruent with the Church that existed prior to Vatican II. Perhaps it is the post-conciliar Church that has lost its way and not the SSPX. It is becoming ever so apparent.
English

Pope Leo XIV on the upcoming SSPX Episcopal Consecrations:
“I am considering making another appeal saying don't do this, let's try to live the communion of the Church. But it's their choice. One must realize what it means for them and for the Church. Certainly, the division among Christians is a painful point. However, they refuse to accept some fundamental elements of the Church, starting with several points from the Second Vatican Council. If they make that decision, I'm sorry but we have to move on.”
English

@bitcoinphil1 @NewReaganCaucus Which is why they sponsee terror attacks and chant “death to America”?
Letting people who want to bring about the eschaton have nukes is an idea so terrible I shouldn’t have to spell it out
English

@NewReaganCaucus 😂 Iran doesn't want to attack the US you fking clown
English

Thankfully, Iran hasn't developed intercontinental ballistic missiles...
