Do I want to mark speaking exams this summer? I’ve got visions of spending hours every evening sitting with headphones in for what amounts to minimum wage. Is this what it’s like?

6 weeks out of the classroom and gone is: - brain fog - being mentally drained at the end of the day - running at 100mph - living every moment of the working day on a rigid schedule - working outside contracted hours - thinking about work outside of work #lifeafterteaching ☮️😌

3 weeks out of the classroom and I’m: - More active - Cooking from scratch daily - Sleeping better (+ not waking up with a whirring mind) - Going out in the evening (+ way less tired doing so) - Present with friends + family - Calmer + nicer to be around #lifeafterteaching

I’ve learnt so much in the last 7 years and have been incredibly lucky to teach so many amazing young people and watch their passion for foreign languages flourish, but my path is changing course. Just 2 days left until I start my next chapter outside the classroom 🥹🤯

@missponceb @lewizrs It’s part papers though, not full papers, so it typically ends up being approx 100-150 of most question types ☺️ and you can ask your team leader for more papers if they’re available, I get an extra quota each year ☺️

@HFooteMFL @lewizrs Thank you 😊 I thought the quota was still too high (300 papers) so I went for 100. I'd rather have less, get them done and maybe ask for more than drown in papers and not meet the deadline 🥲

Hola, I have applied to mark writing papers for AQA next summer and I've been asked how many papers I would be able to mark. What is a reasonable amount considering that it is my first time? I think I only have 3 weeks? Gracias

@MFL_MissC When I did my MA, it was as straightforward as saying ‘as a prior student at university of…’, but the university themselves advertised discounts for returning students. I think the credit transfer is pretty common? ☺️

Looking at using the credits from my PGCE to do my MA in Education. Does anyone have experience of applying for a prior learning credit transfer and would be able to offer some advice on writing the application? #edutwitter
