As soon as summer starts, I got my AC serviced. The technician came, cleaned it with water, and then the same old script began: “Ma’am, the gas has leaked.” “The valve is leaking.” “There’s a hole in the coil.” And then the bill: ₹350 for cleaning ₹2000 for gas refill ₹1500 for valve Total: ₹4000 every year, for each AC. I asked, “How does the gas leak every single year?” He replied, “There’s a drain nearby, that’s why the gas leaks.” But there is no drain near my house. Then he said, “It has an aluminum coil, and the heat is too much.” I said, “But it has a 5-year warranty. You said nothing would happen.” He replied, “The compressor is fine, but the coil has a hole.” So I asked, “What about the warranty?” He said, “Ma’am, gas can leak anytime. There’s no warranty for that.” This isn’t just a story about an AC. It’s about a system that somehow always makes you feel like you’re at fault. It’s nothing like a babu showing the rich their place. It’s simply telling them that public roads are not their private property. That is part of the administration’s basic job, enforcing the rule of law. So he is simply doing his job. Though yes, they started doing it only after the High Court had to issue the order is a different thing.

Noida is the new Kanpur. Cycle tracks gone. Rediwalas everywhere. Illegal garbage dumps in every sector. Footpaths converted into a JV between police & authority for rental income from illegal occupants. Newly developed parks doesn't function beyond 6 months. Filthy.

The driver arrived but insisted on stopping midway to fill CNG, saying it would be too expensive to run the car on petrol otherwise. This is not acceptable. Car readiness is the driver's responsibility, not the passenger’s problem. Passengers should not be forced into delays or arguments after booking. If a driver is low on fuel, he should not accept a ride in the first place. This should be Uber's standard policy. Uber needs to enforce a clear rules/ strict policy of NO MIDWAY FUEL STOPS and no harassment of a customer over such issues. This shows Uber's failure to manage its drivers. Pls take cognizance and make ammendments.

I can’t stress this enough 1. Buy a dishwasher. Almost 80% of the utensils can be managed by the dishwasher. Only cooker, and few items require hand wash 2. Buy a Romba. The one with mopping capabilities 3. Buy a dryer along with washer You don’t need a maid. Once you don’t need a maid, your life will be much more flexible- you day won’t revolve around her timings. You can literally automate 70% of the work she does and you can get several hours back. Just hire someone from Urban company to do deep cleaning once a week or 2 weeks.

@Pivot2Centre Completely agree with you. We have two part time maids, but we also have a strong parallel automated system to deal with their tantrums. We pay them well but we don't allow them to bully us. We have developed a symbiotic relationship over the years which has worked well for US.

Summer in India does something specific to Indian skin. Heat increases sebum. Sweat causes friction. Sun exposure accelerates pigmentation. AC dehydrates. Pollution sticks more readily to sweaty skin. Your winter routine handles none of this correctly. If your skin gets significantly worse every April and you just wait it out until October, that's 6 months of damage that compounds year on year. A seasonal skin reassessment is genuinely worth doing.

I went to meet yogiji through janta darshan. But i couldn't meet yogiji. Its not that easy. There is no proper guidelines for janta darshan. It starts at 8am, we reached at Vikramaditya marg at 7.30 am still we were not allowed. Police is very rude. We were told that people come at night & queue up. Its first come first service, means if you coming from another city, you won't get an easy chance. I tried for his appointment, but there was no response from his office. We went by flight but we were not allowed to meet yogiji. There should be clear online guidelines to meet yogiji , a proper online appointment system should be there for people who come from far off places.

@the_mansi_shukl I always believe, lucky people have an ancestral home. Its beautiful. Renovate it. Make it livable & not designer if the budget dont allow. Go there , let your extended family. Friends go there once in a while. That way your property will stay preserved and alive.

went to my hometown this year and this was the condition of my home jiska taala aaj 12 saal se nahi khula, Parents always say stay connected to your roots but they never came back to check on theirs. Ek ghar tha jo sabka tha par aaj kisi ka bhi nahi.
