I think Elon's ambitious timelines are sometimes his biggest challenge at Tesla. He promised Level 5 Full Self-Driving by 2021. Here we are in 2026, and while we don't have true Level 5 yet, FSD Supervised is undeniably the best ADAS in North America. Without the early hype, more people might appreciate how far it's come instead of just saying 'but Elon promised X.' Same with Robotaxis in Austin. Having even a single Tesla driving itself autonomously on public roads is incredible, Tesla AI deserves huge credit. But the promise of 500 Robotaxis by EOY 2025 clouds that progress for critics. I totally appreciate how optimistic Elon is about the future, I do not think we would be where we are today without that. I do just wish people could appreciate what Tesla has done today, even if it's not quite what Elon promised. My car drives itself 99% of the time, and that's just going to keep getting better with updates over time. Robotaxi's in Austin are driving themselves, and that is just going to keep scaling (even if it's a bit slower than expected) This hit me after seeing complaints about FSD 14.3 not dropping 'on time,' even though Elon said it would probably go wide by end of week. The tech is advancing fast. Let's enjoy the ride.

@greggertruck Some people just don’t drive enough to justify $99 per month. Just charge per mile.

It’s not that $99 is too much, it’s that it’s just a lot for something not everyone has fully adopted for everyday use yet. Evolve indeed.

@Teslaconomics I love Tesla, but lately they’ve been making some strange moves. They’re removing free driver-assistance features while other companies are adding them. These cars are literally computers on wheels, yet the only way to benefit is to buy FSD—no in-between option.

Tesla’s products are built with sweat, blood, tears, and a lot of love. And people can feel that. That’s why people connect with them so deeply. It’s not a coincidence. I think the last time the world truly fell in love with technology like this was when Steve Jobs was building Apple. Right now, that same feeling is happening again… but on another level. And this time, that love is Tesla.

Seems like some Tesla owners are unable to connect to their vehicles through the mobile app. I’m not experiencing the same here in BC. Are you having any issues connecting?

@DriveTeslaca Not very consumer-friendly, this tactic that @Tesla has been using lately. It creates a sense of urgency to push buyers. List it at full price and show a discount, rather than announcing one price and saying it’s only for 10 days.

But why? This is perhaps the best Cybertruck Tesla has offered, but now it’s only going to be available for 10 days? What happens after that? Price goes up? Variant disappears? Cybertruck program ends? So many questions.

This is the cabin camera above the mirror, installed in every Tesla built since 2021. It monitors you and every passenger inside the vehicle. Strangely, that same camera doesn’t record if someone breaks into your car, it simply stops capturing footage at the exact moment you’d expect it to matter most.

@Muskstaycalm @itskyleconner This is two giant middle fingers. Tesla was charging for Autopilot since the car prices were increased when they introduced it as standard. Now they remove it and keep the prices at the same level. This is amazing abundance? Where does the costumer fit in this?

@TeslaKing420 When Autopilot was included the car prices where increased. No price reduction has been announced with its removal.

It seems I’ve upset some people by supporting the removal of Autopilot. Full autonomy is Tesla’s goal, and we are actively moving toward it. Offering both Autopilot and FSD only confuses customers and contradicts that mission. Removing Autopilot was necessary. Now go subscribe to FSD and enjoy your new robot chauffeur.

@DriveTeslaca Autopilot was priced in ($3,000), and they removed it without touching the car prices. It seems unfair and not something Tesla usually does. Maybe a hint that they will indeed replace Autopilot rather than remove it altogether.

@AscraeusTharsis @JoshWest247 @SawyerMerritt Autopilot was not for free. When Tesla started to include it on all the vehicles they increased the car price. The right thing to do would be to reduce the price when removing AP or replace it with a similar functionality.

NEWS: Tesla has officially discontinued Autopilot in the U.S. and Canada. All new car purchases now come standard with Traffic-Aware Cruise Control. The online configurator has now been updated to allow buyers to choose the $99/month FSD subscription, while still offering the option to purchase FSD outright for $8,000 until February 14th. New Tesla vehicles purchases still come with a 30-day free trial of FSD (Supervised).
