@NolleyWayne @jiujitsu199 @ruyschian I think we're talking about diff things. Agree that lowbar is ideal for moving weight. Rippetoe argues for a very unusual form of lowbar backsquat that looks like a squat/good-morning hybrid.

@ruyschian I'm going to be honest with you. It's not bad advice and a good place to start. But, Mark Rippetoe of Starting Strength is a bad source of info i.e. "minds which are prevented from changing their opinions; they cease to be mind"

@AnthonyDiComo Braves have the best run differential in the sport and are the only team not to lose a series yet this season, all without their starting SS and 2nd and 3rd best starting pitchers (all of whom will be back), but okay, “not formidable”

@scottcoleman55 Biggest difference is that Snit would have left Elder in so he could get 5 innings. Love that Walt had an aggressive hook.

Have said it before, but it felt like the sixth inning in last night’s game basically never happened during 2025. Three homers, timely hitting, place going nuts, just fun baseball

One way to respond to the No Kings stuff would be for the president to go on TV and explain, without expressions of self-aggrandizement or grievance, what specifically he's doing to serve American public, including those who didn't vote for him

@DeanTTraining I get a great stimulus from these. They are the only isolation for triceps that causes them to cramp up between sets.

In case you missed it the first 256,789x I mentioned it… This right here is the exercise many are calling: “The GREATEST Triceps exercise known to man” EVERYONE that’s tried this exercise has nothing but GREAT things to say about it

@SarAllyce So true. Powerlifting training gets you the brick-shithouse look, then get lean and you’ve got it all.

@brightafia I’m similar. When trying to perform on heavy compounds, you need to warm up properly and take good rest between sets. It takes time, no way around it. But I can motor through assistance stuff pretty quickly if I’m in a rush. (Otherwise, I take my sweet time.)

I spend up to 2 hours in the gym. I'm still shocked how people spend 30–45 minutes and then go home.

@MarcLobliner Dude. There's one of those in my new gym. After watching some kids using like 15 pounds on each side, I was like "I'm going to own this machine." I'm pretty strong with back stuff. Then I tried it. Let's just say....it has absolutely earned that nickname. Great machine.

I’m anti-tripod and usually train before dawn, but yesterday my daughter is in town and it was Sunday so she filmed a set to prove I still lift. I appreciate the kind commentary 😂 This Arsenal row is known in the pro bodybuilding community as “The Humbler”. Countless times I have seen bros pop a 45 on each side and not be able to lift it off the rack. Keys to this lift are get a full stretch and not bend back like you’re doing the limbo. Quite possibly the best back machine ever created.

@mlbbowman Not a fan. You have to steal bases often and at a high success rate for it to be a clear net positive for the offense. Short of that, you are risking injury for no benefit or at a net cost.

Antoan Richardson helped Juan Soto tally 38 steals last year. So, it seemed fitting to ask some Braves if their new first base coach might help Austin Riley (12 career stolen base attempts) steal 15-plus bags this year @AdobeOrg&affiliateId=mlbapp-ios_webview_news-index&rsid=mlbios.at.bat.new.implementation" target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener">mlb.com/news/antoan-ri…

I’m pretty convinced there isn’t a SINGLE machine on the planet that’ll do a better job of BULLETPROOFING your Lower Back than this one All the Pros of a Deadlift without any of the Cons as far as back resiliency is concerned A truly GOATED piece of equipment

Not trying to be overly dramatic, snarky or mean-spirited when I say I genuinely do not know how Mark DeRosa gets back on MLB Network and is supposed to be taken seriously as a credible analyst after this debacle.

Favorite Spring activity is watching people continue to wear their winter coats in increasingly warmer weather. I imagine they are slowly being boiled alive like that frog sitting obliviously in hotter and hotter water.

@EricEdmeades It’s pretty clear Andrew is not trying to give fat loss advice in this post; he is disputing scientific claims about insulin and fat storage.

I wonder why Andrew is repeating a mantra cooked up by. the soft drink industry, and that has failed hundreds of thousands of people. If Andrew were an accountant, he would have Enron on his resume. He could quote basic absolute formulae and pretend they worked in the real world, like the business teacher who never ran a business. Yes, it is true in a very basic sense that if you 'eat less and move more,' you will lose weight; it is not true as a practical strategy. Further, posted like this, it is basically a form of fat-shaming—after all, if you can't stick to what Andrew is saying (and most can't, with very good reason), then it must be your own weakness.
Andrew Scott@ScottAppliedSci

Incredibly, if you eat less and move more, your insulin will drop pretty quickly no matter what you eat. And, in 2026, no one should be saying ‘fat storage mode’ with a straight face.
