@AmcaInc has acquired Electrocube, a premier supplier of aerospace and defense electrical components since 1961. For six decades, their products have powered nearly every major aerospace and defense platform. This is our fourth acquisition since launch. The story of Electrocube is an increasingly rare one in America. What began with a few friends after the Korean War became a family business. When their time came, they turned to their children to learn the work and carry it forward.

SpaceX is reportedly going public in 2026 at a $1.5 trillion valuation. Seems too low in my opinion. One of the most important and valuable companies in the world. Will eventually be $10 trillion.

The secret to success is compounding gains— and the secret to compounding gains is faith. Whether it’s losing weight, improving your golf handicap, writing a novel, or building a business, success requires dogged, consistent efforts, day in and day out. Yet the daily improvements are imperceptible, so the only apparent payoff for all your hard efforts is a heartbreaking lack of progress. This is the inflection point that separates those who quit from those who persist. Those who quietly, patiently persist have faith in the unseen. You have to know that even though you can’t see these daily micro-improvements, even though “nothing seems to be happening,” that beneath your awareness, these gains are slowly, relentlessly compounding, one building on the next, when suddenly, one day, you make a breathtaking leap forward. So remember, improvement is imperceptible— until it is astonishing. Just because you cannot see the results of your efforts does not mean that your efforts are unseen. All faith works like that.

One finds cultures founded on guilt (typically in the Judeo-Christian world), cultures founded on submission (Islam), and cultures founded on shame (typicallyin Asia). Each is grounded in history and steeped in very distinct traditions. There exists another culture, one without borders that encompasses all. Taking people’s stoicism captive, it seeps through everyday life and breeds disdain. Such is our culture of complaint. With every morning, we ritually engage in perpetuating complaints— “I didn’t get enough sleep,” “The weather is horrible,” “I hate doing the same thing over and over,” or “I’m bored.” Once evening sets, we make our way to the social abode of choice and talk obsessively about how the universe has wronged us in so many ways. There is much to complain about: life, politics, treasonous friends, and, of course, work! On any given day, all these topics come up. This perversion of the mind lays hold upon us all. Individually and collectively, we engage in grumbling; daily, hourly. The many things in life we should be grateful for are lost in our worries and whines. Am I alone in detecting in people—myself included—an unappealing sense of ingratitude, the conceit of those blessed but whose heads swing in frustration because they fail to see their good fortune? I often consider the life of the overworked underclass. They brave harsh realities and sustain their society, living austere lives of unrelieved scarcity. We protest: their fate is not ordained by God but by repeated bad policies and the self-interest of governing elites. Yet I encounter countless invisible souls who describe their own situation stolidly. They look up and give thanks for what they have and blame no one for what they lack. Perhaps complaining takes a listener and leisure, and they have neither. While we choose to drown in our sorrows, they simply get on with life. Our misery and unhappiness, according to Rumi, is directly connected to our insolence and refusal to praise. Sadly, instead of thankfulness, we developed an ungrateful nature. Sa’adi strikes at our self-centered ego: The sun, the moon, the air, the water and the earth are all serving you, aiding life’s purpose, and preparing for your food. Yet, you regard all this unthankfully, absorbed in your own little troubles, which are as nothing before the great forces of nature, always working, night and day. When our tongue desires to complain, we should go contrary to it and find a reason to be thankful instead. For anything that could be better, there is always something else that could be worse. If we overcome our culture of complaint and get in touch with gratitude, it will change the way we see everything. The thought of the self will vanish, and the thought of others will take root. Rather than always wanting, we will care more about giving. Instead of relying on our imperfect understanding, we will look up to find greater meaning. Even virtues, such as tolerance and forgiveness, will arise in our hardened hearts as they soften. Life will thus unfold itself more beautifully. Our half-empty cup will fill to the brim. So when I say, “I can’t complain,” you should understand what I truly mean: I choose not to.

Last week @XCOPYART sent me his assets for his COPE SALADA collection to remix. I decided to hand paint the assets to give it my own flavour. After a few notes back and forth, the ThankYouXcopy collection of 21 unique artworks was born. I've been a fan of XCOPY since i joined the space in 2020 and i'm excited that he approved of this take on his art. This is a fun experiment on @shape and i cant wait to see what happens next. Special thanks to @bonafidehan and @TransientLabs for helping. SALE GOES LIVE 2pm pst TODAY. 1 per wallet transient.xyz/stacks/thankyo…

Jim is even more fun over lunch, great conversation, rollicking laughs, and FREE food! If there were a bracket MMA tourney for philosophers, Jim's a sure bet for Final Four—he bested Pascal, Godel, and Wiiam James in the early going, heck, Plato conceded the debate without even showing up. Sheesh!
