Disney CEO Josh D’Amaro says layoffs impacting about 1,000 roles are underway this week as the company looks to “streamline our operations” across multiple divisions: “Over the past several months, we have looked at ways in which we can streamline our operations in various parts of the company to ensure we deliver the world-class creativity and innovation our fans value and expect from Disney,” he wrote in the memo. “Given the fast-moving pace of our industries, this requires us to constantly assess how to foster a more agile and technologically-enabled workforce to meet tomorrow’s needs. It's fascinating to see what social media reveals about a person before they become the Pope. Before he became Pope Leo XIV, Cardinal Robert Prevost was on Twitter trashing Trump, criticizing Vance, calling for open borders, promoting COVID vaccines, endorsing stricter gun control, and tweeting after George Floyd: "We need to hear more from leaders in the Church, to reject racism and seek justice." The account was deleted the day he was elected.

Yesterday, an Iranian-flagged cargo vessel tried to evade the U.S. blockade after leaving Bandar Abbas, exiting the Strait of Hormuz, and transiting along the Iranian coastline. The guided-missile destroyer USS Spruance (DDG 111) successfully redirected the vessel, which is heading back to Iran.   Ten vessels have now been turned around and ZERO ships have broken through since the start of the U.S. blockade on Monday.

Five IDF divisions are advancing across southern Lebanon with extensive ground and air fire support. The 98th Division completed its encirclement of Bint Jbeil, one of Hezbollah's most important strongholds in southern Lebanon. During the fighting, Givati Brigade fighters forced Radwan Force operatives to surrender their weapons. Per the IDF Chief of Staff's orders, the entire area south of the Litani River will become a zone for the destruction of Hezbollah.
