Since January 20, 2025, the backlog has been cut by more than 74%, helping veterans receive the disability compensation and pension benefits they’ve earned more quickly. As we celebrated America’s 250th birthday with International Naval Review 250, parades, and events throughout our city, New York welcomed visitors from around the country and world. We thank the men & women of @NYPDnews who worked long 12 hours shifts in the heat to keep New Yorkers and visitors safe during this historic celebration. We are also keeping Detective Robert Karroll, who was shot yesterday in Brooklyn, in our thoughts & prayers. Thankfully his vest saved his life and he will make a full recovery.
