You can criticize the Disney sequels for al lot of thing, and I do hate them. They're absolutely terrible movies that nobody should ever watch. Trash.
But.
More and "betterer" laser sword fights doesn't necessarily mean a better movie, or even a better fight scene. I, for one, wish Lucas wouldn't have over-relied on light sabers so heavily in the prequels, and I was perfectly happy with the awkward Vader/Kenobi fight in A New Hope.
That being said, I don't begrudge anyone loving the prequel battles. They are visually pleasing and impressively choreographed. Like a dance. But, in my opinion, a little boring in how long they are.

Code Vein 2 is a great example of devs knowing what fans want but corporate meddling fucking them over. A good example is the removal of as much visual fanservice as they could but chapter two still opens with a half naked loli straddling your character and sucking on your neck. Let's also not forget the multiple naked bathtime cuddles with your chocolate queen. They also really did good on the bosses and dungeon designs despite them making the game more open world. I really wish more people would just give it a try cause the devs really knew what they were doing.

A movie unconcerned with character development and meaningful dialogue, is also unconcerned with lecturing, making Oscar casting requirements, making women look invincible, and being gay with gay characters.
This movie was an absolute blast. Nonstop action, never-ending easter eggs and I laughed out loud twice. My kids loved it. And that's the point.

Gamers don't realise how much game devs sacrifice to make a game.
The amount of stories I have heard over the years about marriages ending or coming close to ending because of devs doing crazy hours particularly at the end of a project is unfortunately very common!
Here is one example, towards the end of Portal 2 the lead designers wife was threatening to leave him because he was pretty much living at Valve, so he made the decision to step back and delegate to another team member. (I've met his wife, she is lovely.)
Even with my interviews my wife sacrifices a lot for me to be able to do it and it's something I struggle to balance.
With great success, usually comes great cost.

A decision I think is wrong, and one that’s simply not in me to make. Unearned surface level pulp that treats the world as background to a mostly cozy DnD campaign.
But, it’s also a decision made by a very different individual in a different context. Crucially, the context that actually gets any of this made in the first place.
So yes, it’s an eye-roll from me. But not a personal one. The machine that makes any of this exist runs on recognition, not coherence. And that machine is the context of this story’s creation.
