St John Ambulance has joined with @ResusCouncilUK in writing to @bphillipsonMP to provide clear guidance and accessible resources to schools to support the delivery First aid on the Education Curriculum.
UK governments and local authorities pledged to make CPR part of the secondary school curriculum, but nearly 4 in 10 students say they haven’t received CPR training in school. 📢 Join us in urging the government for proper monitoring and support: action.resus.org.uk/cpr-in-schools
My latest round-up: 🔸 I visited our local St John Ambulance branch to meet the amazing volunteers and hear about the fundraising challenges they’re facing. 🔸 On the Treasury Committee, we questioned the Bank of England, and Martin Lewis gave evidence about Lifetime ISAs. Read more here: suttonlibdems.org.uk/news/article/b… 🔸 I’ve been out about in Roundshaw, attending the monthly community drop-in and knocking on doors to speak directly with residents. 🔸 I visited Sherwood Park School to see how SeeAbility supports children with profound and multiple learning disabilities with eye care 🔸 I held my regular Wallington High Street Stall — these are on the second Saturday of each month. Drop by if you’d like to raise an issue or concern 🔸 I joined Carshalton Boys' Careers Fair to talk to students about my journey into politics and their future careers We've also seen the start of both Lent and Ramadan recently, and I'd like to wish all those observing them a peaceful and reflective period.
A busy couple of days in the constituency. I visited local schools, met with St John Ambulance Cadets 🚑, engaged with local residents, and even had fun making my own Big Mac 🍔. This evening, I’ll be in Daventry, looking forward to meeting more residents at a local pub.

Today, the BHF, joined by 45 other organisations across the cardiovascular disease (CVD) community, have launched a consensus statement urging Government to commit to a National Cardiovascular Disease Plan. Cardiovascular disease is one of the UK’s biggest killers causing a quarter of all deaths in the UK - roughly 1 death every 3 minutes.
