My response to Peter Obi’s media people: I wonder why all these incompetent politicians are turning President Bola Tinubu into their favourite whipping boy. The President has nothing to do with Obi’s abandonment of the Labour Party or the jam he appears to have run into in the ADC. After using the Labour Party to vie for the highest office in the country, Obi dumped it in a classic case of use-and-dump. He failed to demonstrate leadership in resolving the party's crisis. Instead, he went to the embrace of his IPOB base, the so-called Obidient movement, which is more active online. You would think the man would transform the movement into a political party. But no, he didn't do any such thing. He is just incapable of building an organic party of his own. Because he knows he needs a political structure to realise his doomed dream of winning the presidency, he shopped for a cooked soup to partake in the ensuing party. The peripatetic politician moved to the hijacked ADC, an SPV bought by Atiku Abubakar from Ralph Nwosu. No due diligence appeared to have been conducted by the new owners, and thus, the nightmare they are confronting today. What is the connection of Tinubu with the ADC crisis? Absolutely none. Whatever problem they have is self-inflicted. Obi and his co-travellers need to get their acts together, clear the mess in their new party and then compete for the presidential ticket. Let them go and settle with Nafiu Gombe and other disenchanted ADC members. As of now, Obi, without being made a candidate, is inconsequential for 2027. The fact that he came third in 2023 does not mean he will have the same showing in 2027, if he ever becomes a candidate of any party. 2023 is not like 2027. President Tinubu is an incumbent with many achievements to flaunt, most of which Obi has been blind to acknowledge. First things first. Let the man become a candidate first. All this blackmail against the President is sheer baloney, a very unfair attempt to besmirch his democratic credentials.

It’s not propaganda. It’s simply your poor understanding of how government works and how the media reports it. In May 2024, ₦3.3 trillion was approved after vetting Gencos’ claims. In April 2026, that same ₦3.3 trillion was approved for payment. You’ll still see more headlines when it’s finally released. That’s the pattern.

I am currently watching a press briefing by President Trump, the CIA Director and his Defense Secretary about the rescue of an American pilot and a weapons system officer from the ground in Iran. The extent that America is willing to go to defend and rescue one American is just amazing. In Nigeria, a General was captured, killed and humiliated by terrorists and we didn’t see any meaningful action from Tinubu and his cronies in the Villa. Members of the Nigerian Armed Forces are being paid very ridiculous wages. Yet, politicians and their families are living in opulence.

@BolajiADC Is this how you want to be doing your opposition for another 4 years? You can't even read the story to understand and come up with an alternative plan as an opposition.

Two years later: After the Plateau "no light" airport stopover disaster, President Tinubu’s cover up is to re-approve the same N3.3 trillion that he approved in May 2024. Is it that he forgot? Or is this propaganda taken too far? This affliction too shall pass.

I didn’t vote in 2023 for my own personal reasons. But after watching the bold reforms, the economy stabilizing, reserves growing, and the direction we’re heading… I’m voting Tinubu in 2027 to finish the job. No leave, no transfer. What about you? Drop your 2027 plan 👇 #Tinubu2027 #RenewedHope

A memo to Mr onanuga from Nigeria observes The receipts are in. And they are damning. On Friday May 17, 2024, Nigeria’s Minister of Power Adebayo Adelabu announced at the 8th Africa Energy Marketplace in Abuja that President Tinubu had approved part payment of all power sector debts estimated at N3.3 trillion. Same figure. Same announcement. Same government. Different date. May 17 2024: N3.3 trillion approved. July 2025: N4 trillion bond approved. May 2025: $122 billion policy approved. January 2026: N501 billion bond issued. April 6 2026: N3.3 trillion approved again as “full and final settlement.” The Association of Power Generation Companies confirmed that most GenCos refused to sign the government’s settlement agreements because they conflicted with existing power purchase agreements. Only five generating companies signed, largely government-affiliated ones. So the 2024 announcement didn’t work. The debt kept growing. From 2015 to December 2024 the debt grew to N4 trillion. By March 2026 it had reached N6.8 trillion, growing by N200 billion every single month. They announced N3.3 trillion in May 2024. The debt grew by N2 trillion more between then and now. And the solution is to announce N3.3 trillion again. Tinubu visited Jos to condole with massacre victims in April 2026 and told the audience he was leaving in 10 minutes because the airport had no electricity. The President approving billions to fix electricity cannot stay 10 minutes at a Nigerian airport because there is no electricity. This is not governance. This is a press release recycling programme. 🇳🇬

Peter Obi and his team have turned victimhood into a full-time campaign strategy. Nobody is stopping you from the ballot — your party structure is stopping you. Go and fix Labour Party from the ground up instead of blaming ADC for your own internal chaos. 2027 is not 2023. Nigerians have moved on. The 'Obidient' movement ran on emotion, not structure — and emotions expire. If you're truly a serious contender, show us the structure, the governors, the senators, the local government presence. Until then, this is just noise designed to keep your name trending. We see through it.

2027: Obi’s camp alleges plot to deny him ballot access The Media Office of Peter Obi, the Labour Party’s 2023 presidential candidate and a leading contender for 2027, says there is a coordinated plot by the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) to stop him from getting on the ballot for the January 2027 poll. vanguardngr.com/2026/04/2027-o…
