I often say that many left-wing faculty see academia as their rightful domain and that even an inch of incursion from the "right" is illegitimate and must be crushed, even as they thoroughly politicize entire disciplines, but it's nice to have the view so explicitly stated.

It's truly amazing what can happen to you if you begin with the conclusion you want to believe in and blind yourself to the titanic amount of evidence to the contrary. Today's case in point: someone who believes that *Latin* literature was preserved primarily by Byzantine Greeks:



This point does not get emphasized enough: Gore not only fully conceded after the Supreme Court ruled, but as the sitting vice president, he oversaw the electoral college vote AND shut down any statements from Democrats wanting to contest Florida. In that regard, Mike Pence followed in Gore‘s footsteps. Meanwhile, Pence‘s boss Donald Trump twisted his arm to overturn the electoral college — and encouraged a riot to upend the congressional vote. So, points to Gore, points to Pence, ashes on the head of Donald Trump.
