Congratulations and welcome to the newest leaders of VELOZ's Board of Directors and Public Policy Board, who were confirmed at Veloz's March 26 board meeting in Oakland, California. Waymo’s Head of Sustainability & Environment Adam Lenz joins Veloz’s Board of Directors to lend his extensive cross-sector climate and sustainability expertise. His work at Waymo advances a clean future of mobility defined by shared electric vehicles and walkable, bikeable, and transit-rich communities. Waymo is a longtime member of Veloz and continues to play a critical role in shared electric mobility as they plan to lay the groundwork for fully autonomous ridehail service in more than 20 cities across the U.S. in 2026. The Rockefeller Brothers Fund’s Program Officer for Sustainable Development Deborah Burke joins the Veloz Board of Directors, bringing her expertise in philanthropy and clean energy policy to the table. Her work at the Fund is focused on advancing the clean energy economy and movement building. The Fund is a supporter of Veloz’s efforts and Deborah’s expertise will play a crucial role in Veloz’s Electric For All vision of accelerating transportation electrification. California Public Utilities Commission (CPUC) President John Reynolds brings his experience in both the public and private sector as an attorney, and his background as a policy advisor in the energy, telecommunications, transportation, and water industries to the Veloz Public Policy Board. The CPUC is a founding member of Veloz, and our two organizations have worked together for a decade on transportation electrification programs that advance EV adoption. Illinois Environmental Protection Agency's State Electric Vehicle Officer, Megha Lakhchaura, works across state agencies, public entities, and industry partners to develop and implement a comprehensive electric vehicle adoption strategy for Illinois. Megha brings her extensive experience in clean energy and transportation electrification across both the public and private sectors, along with a new regional perspective to Veloz’s Public Policy Board as we grow our impact and programs nationally. In this month's Ride to Zero Blog, VELOZ Executive Director Josh D. Boone ⚡️🚙 spotlights a powerful example of fleet electrification leadership and why it matters more than ever as the federal regulatory landscape continues to shift. The California State Transportation Agency's recent investment in 453 Rivians for the Caltrans fleet is more than a procurement milestone. It's a proof point that cities and states have real tools at their disposal right now to advance transportation electrification through proactive leadership. And the impact adds up fast. According to recent research from the The International Council on Clean Transportation, today's EVs produce 73% less life-cycle greenhouse gas emissions than gas vehicles. When entire fleets make the switch, that reduction happens quickly. Fleet electrification is also a smart fiscal move: - Fleets rack up more daily miles than the average consumer, multiplying fuel savings across every vehicle - Lower maintenance costs add up even faster in fleets - States and cities can act now, without waiting on federal policy From California to New York, to New Jersey, state and local leaders are showing what's possible. Veloz is proud to bring the industry together to support that momentum. Read more here >> veloz.org/californias-fl…

The EV charging industry is moving fast. We mean that literally. This week, VELOZ's Munni Krishna and Rosa Davies are at the EV Charging Summit & Expo in Las Vegas, one of the largest gatherings of charging infrastructure leaders in the world. We're there to connect, learn, and remain at the leading edge of where this industry is going. Because here's the thing: the charging industry continues to grow, adapt, and evolve around shifting policies, priorities, and consumer demands. Staying close to EV trends is exactly what Veloz is here to do. So, for those leading sector growth, let’s connect – we want to support you! And we’re not stopping there - our learnings from Vegas are heading straight to our airwaves in our next Digital Dialogue! "The Future Is Fast: High-Powered Charging and Long-Range EVs," which will bring together an expert panel of innovators to answer questions on how industry advancements on both the charger and auto manufacturer sides are speeding up and getting EV drivers back on the road faster. Bottom line? There are two great ways to find us this month — come say hello in Las Vegas and save your spot for April 30! Register here. 👉 veloz.org/event/the-futu…

Longtime VELOZ member @Uber just announced two major initiatives to accelerate an autonomous and electric future: ⬛️ Uber is investing more than $100 million to develop new high-capacity AV charging hubs to support its growing autonomous vehicle fleet. ⬛️ Uber is providing utilization guarantees to help charging networks unlock over $100 million in new public EV charging infrastructure, with a priority focus on renters and urban residents who lack home charging. “Autonomy and electrification are fundamentally linked. That’s why we’re investing in both autonomous and public charging, ensuring infrastructure can scale for drivers today and the fleets of tomorrow.” — Tessa Sanchez, Head of Sustainability Policy, Uber; Board of Directors, Veloz EVgo, a founding member of Veloz, is working with Uber on the rideshare charging initiative, expanding their longstanding partnership. “Rideshare drivers represent some of the heaviest users of public fast charging — and that demand is only growing as more drivers choose electric. EVgo’s partnership with Uber is about meeting drivers where they are. We’re building the infrastructure that makes going electric real for the people doing this work every day.” — Sara Rafalson, EVP of Policy and External Affairs, EVgo; Secretary, Veloz Board of Directors Read more: nytimes.com/2026/02/18/bus…

The Chevrolet Bolt is back in 2027 with an EPA-rated range of 262 miles and a starting price of $28,995! The Bolt's new lithium-iron-phosphate battery accepts up to 150 kilowatts, bringing a 10-to-80-percent charge down to 25 minutes, and the native NACS port means access to Tesla's Supercharger network. As we know, affordability is a key factor for consumers, and the new Bolt will be an American-assembled EV that costs less than many fully-loaded gas cars. Read more: caranddriver.com/reviews/a70627…

Last night, Seth Meyers and John Lutz talked about all the things actual EV owners can't stop bringing up. Charging at home. Range realities. And the frunk. In partnership with NBCUniversal and Late Night with Seth Meyers, Electric For All brought the everyday EV conversation to a national late-night audience for the very first time — not as a traditional ad, but as the kind of exchange that feels like one you've already had with a friend, neighbor, or coworker who just got an EV. The way forward is electric. Watch the full segment here: youtube.com/post/UgkxchPhN… Thank you to NBC Universal and the Late Night team for helping carry this message forward. Our VELOZ team is in New York City this week, and we're happy to report that the "Electric For All - The Way Forward Is Electric" billboard in Times Square is even better in person! The Electric For All campaign has been touting the benefits of driving electric at one of the world's busiest intersections since the holiday season, and we love that the message is meeting so many new people every day. Electric vehicles are for everyone — just ask all the people in Times Square!⚡️

In today's Ride to Zero Blog, Veloz Executive Director Josh D. Boone discusses our latest national survey, which highlights a critical point: exposure to clear, practical information significantly increases consumer interest in EVs. How we message EV benefits matters. When EV conversations focus on real-world impacts rather than abstract policy debates, consumer interest grows. According to the survey, these are some of the most motivating EV messages: - EVs require less maintenance – you will never have to change your oil or get a tune-up. - Charge your EV at home while you sleep using a standard home outlet without extra equipment. - Today’s EVs have 300+ miles of range, as much as an average gas car. - Skipping the gas station saves drivers up to $2,000 per year and up to $10,000 over the life of the car The results of our survey underscore that consumers and decision makers are two sides of the same coin. Consumers need clear, practical information to make confident choices. Decision makers need credible data and strategic context to create the consumer demand conditions that make those choices possible. Read more here >> veloz.org/consumer-insig…
