So apparently FIFA changed the tiebreaker rules. Head to head takes priority over GD now…
We will need Turkiye to draw vs Paraguay or get a draw vs Turkiye.
Kind of dumb a team with +6 could lose a group to +2…

Really hope Pulisic is fit for tomorrow. I’m confident if we beat Australia, we will top the group. Might even be able to rest guys vs 🇹🇷 depending how their game goes vs Paraguay. Even if they win 3-0 they’d still only be +1

@five_takes But what I’m saying is I was comfortable w that for that game specifically bc I didn’t have much desire to go. I would’ve if they didn’t sell but still. I really want to go to the R16 so it’s wayyy over 25%. If someone wants to buy them, that’s on them. If not I get to go.

@skiplacombe @StubHub Well I mean no one should have bought tickets 3rd party. FIFA has said for years the only authorized re-sale is their ticket marketplace. If you bought outside of that, that’s kind of on you tbh.

@LondonCallingA @starsnstripesfc Well, if we win tomorrow & had a big goal differential over Turkey it’d be nice to give some of our main guys some rest for the Turkey match. Like teams usually do at the WC. Now it’s very possible that USA might have to get a point in the third match just to top the group.

@five_takes For example, Congo v Uzbekistan I put up at $400/seat for cat 2 and they all sold. I’m comfortable not going to that game at that price. My cat 1s for the R16 game is listed MUCH higher, bc I want to go to the game, and realistically don’t want to sell the tickets.

@five_takes Read some of your replies after I commented. Yes some bought at scalper prices, but as another said, I saw tickets under $300 these last few days leading into the game. Very reasonable even for a group stage game imo. Argentina v Canada 24 COPA I paid $300/seat.

@asc74O @starsnstripesfc Plus fluke wins happen over the course of a season while GD over the whole season actually makes sense. If you’re consistently beating teams by multiple goals, your GD will be higher by the end vs a 3 game sprint where Germany is plus 6 against curaçao.

@starsnstripesfc @LondonCallingA No soccer league values H2H over GD because in soccer leagues you play each team more than once. So the H2H can’t even be measured properly.
