@rdd147 I think they used the small helicopter they destroyed upon leaving the airstrip to retrieve the SWO, rather than run 70 miles round trip.

This is literally what Trump just told you. The US flew in, built a secret US base, landed 2 C130s ran 35 miles to a distant mountain, rescued a severely injured pilot from the mountain travelling 35 miles back by foot across open plain, while engaged in massive night time fire fight. Tried to take off in 2 c130s that got stuck in airport. Kept battling until more troops came and took them away, then blew up the C130s in air.

I hate Trump's message, to be honest. I would never send it myself. But the critics who think he sent it simply because he's crazy and lacks all self control have learned nothing, and they will be surprised again. The ability to surprise repeatedly as the most watched and analyzed man alive is impressive, to say the least.

I think he actually enjoys tormenting the likes of you and your ilk because he knows that kind of stuff sends you right over the edge. If you had even a modicum of self-control, trolling you would not be so entertaining.

This is an actual post. This is not funny. This is beyond desperate. This is a deeply unwell man who doesn’t belong anywhere near the levers of power. Every member of his cabinet and Congress is complicit in not demanding his removal now.

For the trillionth time, the White House ballroom is privately funded. No matter how bad you want Trump to light taxpayers money on fire the way Democrats do, it isn’t going to come true. Funny how Democrats ONLY care about debt when Trump’s in office. You were mute 2020-2024.

Has any U.S. war cost less? One might compare it to the First Barbary War, but that had 50 killed. 100 other casualties, lost the Frigate Philadelphia, which was 17% of our true naval vessels. And we paid $60,000 dollars to ransom American held as prisoners. So no war has cost less. Now what the gain is still to be determined, but likely the end of Iran as a regional power with ICBMs.

@MSsilverside @HansMahncke This talking ppint of "dual citizen" arose from people not having the balls to call or Jews and thier criminals beghavior, there is no legal standing for a dual citizenship in the USA. US citizenship always supersedes. I have a US and Irish passport its sybolic and not functional

Justice Thomas was the only one who asked the obvious question: what is the common thread among the recognized exceptions to the 14th Amendment, namely diplomats, enemy forces, and Native Americans? The respondent’s lawyer offered this word-salad answer: “So, as I just said, all of the exceptions involve situations where that U.S.-born child is not subject to the jurisdiction of the United States because that extraterritoriality, the fiction of extraterritoriality, the interaction of another sovereign between the United States’ jurisdiction and that person applies to the child as well as to the parent.” What she seems to be getting at is that these categories involve some form of competing sovereign allegiance, even when the person is physically present in the United States. That may make sense for diplomats and enemy combatants, but it becomes far more muddled with respect to Native Americans, over whom the U.S. government did exercise jurisdiction. At best, it was a mixed and evolving situation. And that is precisely the point. There are modern analogues that fit this framework at least as well, if not better. For example, Chinese citizens are subject to legal obligations to the Chinese state, including intelligence cooperation, regardless of where they are in China or anywhere else. Other countries such as South Korea, Singapore, Greece, and Iran maintain strict extraterritorial conscription laws, meaning their citizens remain legally bound to serve even if they were born and live in the United States. If anything, those cases are cleaner examples of ongoing sovereign obligation than the historical status of Native Americans, who were physically present within the United States and still not fully covered at the time. Unfortunately, none of this was seriously explored during oral argument.
captive dreamer@captive_dreamer

None of these people can ever explain to you why "Native American" tribes weren't given US citizenship for being born in the US until 1924. None.

@IsserSteve @SpencerGuard Why take Kharg island? Just denying the use of it to Iran accomplishes the same result. If you capture the island they will turn off the pipeline at the mainland end and all you have done is deny its use.

@SpencerGuard This is also why it takes time, even with precision weapons. Literally tens of thousands of dispersed targets, some have to be hit multiple times. Probably need troops to seize Kharg, take out fortified islands, coastal positions. Suffocate financially, then wait.

@JewishWarrior13 This is literally surrendering control over the Strait of Hormuz to Iran. Other countries will "get the oil" by paying tribute to Iran, which will enrich it and allow it to rebuild its missile capability. Let's hope this is just designed to cajole Europe into joining the US.

@wretchardthecat Why capture what is essentially the output end of a pipeline? All that gains is the denial of use by Iran. We can achieve that without capturing the island. We can control what goes in and out of Iran by sea.

It’s absolutely ridiculous that we have 25-year-old “students” who graduated 3 years ago still playing college football. My bill is simple: you get 5 consecutive years to play 5 seasons. After that, you’re done. No more of this “COVID free year of eligibility” crap.

In statement, @CENTCOM spokesman Navy Capt. Tim Hawkins says: "We are aware of reports that a U.S. F-35 aircraft conducted an emergency landing at a regional U.S airbase after flying a combat mission over Iran. The aircraft landed safely, and the pilot is in stable condition. This incident is under investigation." I asked whether CNN's reporting that it's believed the jet was hit with Iranian fire is true. Centcom officials decline to say either way.

The problem with the idea that only whites can be racist, because only they have institutional power, is that - "morality" aside - it's just clearly not true. The NAACP has FAR more institutional power than the Klan. So does BLM, for that matter.

I broke down yesterday how this started. It was a Substack post that Molly Jong Fast then highlighted on BlueSky, and then Lincoln Project and Bulwark media just decided to run with, and then it spread to outlets like TMZ. It's literally a fabricated Slack channel narrative by the same usual suspects.

In the epilogue of 'Days of Rage' it catalogs how virtually none of the underground radicals who carried out bombings, cop-killings, bank robberies etc. were still in prison. They nearly all got no sentence, short sentences, paroled. Of few who did get long sentences (18 FALN members), Bill Clinton granted 16 of them clemency at urging of Jimmy Carter. One of the only ones still in prison at the writing of the book (Oscar Lopez Rivera) was pardoned by Obama a year after the book came out. Mass Under-incarceration is a big problem.
