Scientists just copied a Fruit Fly's biological brain and trapped it inside of a computer. Not an AI model trained to act like a fly... A total digital copy of a fly !! This is some sick sci-fi stuff: - They scanned and copied the brain, neuron by neuron, synapse by synapse, from electron microscopy data. - Then dropped that brain into a simulated body in a video game like environment. The fly walked. It groomed. It fed. Nobody taught it anything. The behavior was already in the wiring. The entire premise of modern AI is that intelligence is something you train into a system. This is proof it's something you can transfer out of one. Wild times

US productivity grew by a robust 2.8% for all of 2025 (as well as in q4 of 2025) a smidge higher than the 2.7% that I predicted three weeks ago in my @FT article. Is this partly due to AI? It's too soon to sure - these numbers are notoriously volatile. But the old line "we see AI everywhere but in the productivity statistics" may need to be retired. More importantly, I see large productivity gains -often double digits - in specific applications in many companies I visit. As those successes proliferate, I expect clearer evidence to be visible in the macro data.

Reaching AGI won't be beating a benchmark. It will be the end of the human-AI gap. Benchmarks are simply a way to estimate the current gap, which is why we need to continually release new benchmarks (focused on the remaining gap). Benchmarking is a process, not a fixed point. We can say we have AGI when it's no longer possible to come up with a test that evidences the gap. When it's no longer possible to point to something that regular humans can do and AI can't. Today, it's still easy. I expect it will become nearly impossible by 2030.

@Yossi_Dahan_ @polynoamial ARC-4 is in the works, to be released early 2027. ARC-5 is also planned. The final ARC will probably be 6-7. The point is to keep making benchmarks until it is no longer possible to propose something that humans can do and AI can't. AGI ~2030.

@juliencdt Bien vu. Je rajouterai qu’il faut impérativement tester les versions avancées des modèles. Beaucoup de personnes s’arrêtent encore à GPT5.2-instant et n’essaie pas GPT5.2-thinking « approfondi », ou encore Deep Research. Les résultats ne sont pas du tout les mêmes.

J'ai vu passer cet article 350 fois au moins dans mon feed : c'est qu'il mérite lecture, à n'en pas douter, pour vous faire un avis. J'y vois beaucoup de vrai, un peu de FUD (c'est un vendeur de SaaS IA qui l'écrit) et deux excellents conseils que j'ai pu aussi donner sous d'autres formes. Le premier : ne considérez pas que l'état de l'art de l'IA est la version gratuite d'une plateforme (ou celle dispo il y a 6 mois). Si vous vous moquez du résultat d'un Claude ou d'un ChatGPT sans avoir utilisé GPT 5.2/3 ou Opus 4.6, vous passez à côté de la vérité. C'est l'erreur constante et factuelle reprochée à Luc Julia : il n'utilise pas l'IA au quotidien, ne se met jamais à jour et l'essentiel de sa conférence repose sur des modèles vieux de 3 ans. Le second : chaque mois, prenez le temps de donner à faire votre métier à une IA "state of the art". Donnez-lui une consigne ultra complexe s'il le faut, qui semblera irréelle et impossible à faire, mais testez sa réponse, quel que soit votre métier et vos tâches. Il faut avoir 0 égo là-dedans : c'est une question d'opportunité à saisir et d'analyse de risque à moyen / long terme. Matt parle de la fin proche des « métiers qui se passent derrière un écran » : je n'y crois pas trop, mais ce n'est pas en l'ignorant ou en faisant comme si elle n'existait pas que cette situation ne va pas arriver. Anticiper, c'est rester maître de son avenir et dans une période d'hyper-accélération, il est sain de remettre en cause ses certitudes toutes les semaines.

Rien, je dis bien RIEN ne sortira de sa startup oui LeCun est un chercheur pionnier, lauréat du Turing award, père des CNN, oui il lèvera encore et encore des centaines de millions car c’est EXACTEMENT le profil dont l’écosystème français raffole: le credential porn absolu mais il n’a ni les épaules, ni la vision, ni surtout la VITESSE d’exécution pour aller challenger les pirates des labos de Tsinghua ou les fondateurs de 20 piges ans de SF qui ont 10x plus de folie et de brutalité sous les pieds le grand malheur de la France c’est de croire qu’on bâtit des champions en recrutant des académiques de prestige plutôt qu’en libérant des exécutants obsessionnels avec une touche bien weirdos il est l’exact opposé du mindset nécessaire pour construire une entreprise qui doit shipper des world models en production avant que World Labs (Fei Fei Li, déjà à 5Mds$ de valuation) ou Physical Intelligence ne mangent tout le marché je pense que AMI Labs sera une magnifique machine à papiers arXiv, un hub de recherche corporate européen de + mais pendant ce temps les équipes de Hangzhou & Palo Alto sortiront des modèles déployés sur des millions de robots et véhicules autonomes le problème n’est pas le talent car il y en a en France, pour moi le problème c’est qu’on confond excellence académique & capacité à construire des systèmes industriels à l’échelle car ce vieux continent qu’est l’Europe valorise le pedigree plutôt que l’obsession du shipping

AIxMath is going through some extremely confused chatter at the moment. Everyone agree on the facts, yet the interpretation oscillates between "I have never seen an AI have a brilliant idea & it probably will never happen" and "math is so over, look at this algebraic geometry conjecture that got resolved!". As often in life, neither of these caricatures capture what is really going. I did my best attempt at describing the arc of progress in my recent talk. It's long form (45 minutes) but I think that's what is needed to get a grounded and contextualized view of today's SOTA. If I'm forced to give a tl;dr it would be: 1 year ago AI could at best save me an hour of work in mathematics (at best), while today IF I ASK THE RIGHT LEVEL QUESTION it can do work that would have taken me days, sometimes (though rarely!) even weeks. Pour la note de communauté : vous n’avez rien compris à l’AI Act. Ce sont les fournisseurs qui ont une obligation de transparence sur les contenus générés par IA (par exemple Google quand vous générez avec Nano Banana Pro). En aucun cas les clients finaux ne doivent indiquer quand un contenu produit contient de l’IA. Sinon, spoiler : 99,9 % de toutes les photos et vidéos publiées sur Internet devraient porter cette mention. Faut vraiment arrêter de raconter des conneries sur l’IA quand on sait pas.
