@alialtaktik not really I’d say Wharton is a deep line progresser, and whilst Barco does do that he more dictates and is a final ball passer

Wharton and Barco in the same midfield feels like overkill, much like Santos, Essugo and Caicedo. The overlap outweighs the complementarity. Ideally, you need a different profile to balance the unit.

Lacroix is an out-and-out defender, like an old-school CB. As long as we don't task him with progressing the ball frequently, he will make a good partner for Colwill. If he plays in the middle of Colwill and Reece, those two will likely be the progressors. I just like his feel for defending. We have lacked a natural defender, someone who loves to get his body dirty and fight for every ball.

not a bad back 5 at all… I like Lacroix as a signing, but he has to arrive with Ramon - due to his on the ball struggles. having Colwill and Ramon either side of him progressive cheat code, which is always my main prerogative with back 3s. Josh HAS to go on loan to Palace!

I don’t mind this signing at all as long as another signing in Ramon follows brilliant in every aspect we need, only reservations are: - on the ball ability: seems poor, especially as he had an easy out-ball every time with a target man in Mateta - ability to play high line

Only an Unserious Coach / SD choose a player of Lacroix’s ability over a player of Ordonez’s. Remember, this is my forte. They’re levels and Ordonez’s is top 3 CB itl, lacroix despite being a good player isn’t the same calibre.

@classicJay92 someone of that nature is simply unattainable, as all of them are settled in successful teams. That’s where sadly you have to rely on scouting from either mid table PL teams or promising yet not raw CBs that performed well and due a boom. E.g. both Ramon & Lacroix together

@MeasuredByMagic Marquinhos or someone of his level, an experienced CB at the top level who can bring experience to the team and play one game a week without any issues. I don't want another high potential youngster or a CB from a mid table team in the premier league, we don't need another Tosin.

if it’s between Jacobo Ramon and Lacroix, Ramon is 10x better - elite progressive passer - somehow better aerially / taller - better defending wide flanks - better receiving in dm positions however if they back Alonso and wanted a 3 if Ramon - Lacroix - Colwill, I’m not mad.

if you’re unsure on Jacobo Ramon based off a few clips, please take it with a pinch of salt - from someone who has watched him all year, he’s the real deal. please have a look at him on ScoutLab and then tell me he isn’t a good option 🤷‍♂️
