Here’s Lindor openly saying JD martinez changed their offense last year on 5/30. This offense looks exactly like it did when last year when they were 11 under before JD showed up. Chavez and Barnes are the clear obvious problem and we’ve watched mediocre .500 baseball for 80 games instead of any change being made. Slap in the face to sellout crowds at citi and the fans watching at home. @StevenACohen2 please do something here #LGM

I can’t believe this is a serious comment below… that’s like saying “a coaching change has never worked in the history of sports” - sometimes you just fire the coaches and shake shit up, give the players a different perspective on things, of course fire Chavez and Barnes

I think its certainly fair to question the #Mets internal processes, messaging and voices from within. But in the end, there are arguably 3 players at the top of this lineup on a hall of fame trajectory who haven't hit consistently in a month. Among others, they're the problem.

Analytics Nerds will tell you batting average doesnt matter… the Mets suck because they are 23rd in batting average, they dont actually get hits, which is kind of the whole game

@_Jay__Tee_ It shows they have information overload… all of these analytics guys and coaches try to keep themselves relevant… so they overdo things and overthink things… if you are 1-0 in the count be ready to mash, 2-0, 3-1… just hit in hitters counts

@MetsSavior This team just looks clueless right now. The amount of fastballs taken for strike 3 and the swings and misses on balls right down the middle has me thinking either they're guessing at the plate or Chavez/Barnes' approach clearly isn't working

@_Jay__Tee_ Yes the nerds really did kill baseball… the traditional slash line works perfectly: Batting Average/HR/RBI You gotta get hits and drive runs in to win, even Billy Beane said “my shit doesnt work in the playoffs” (too many walks, not enough actual hits)
