By clustering together into a more compact arrangement, the system reduces the total information needed to specify everything—achieving a kind of cosmic data compression. This informational "pull" toward lower entropy states manifests as the attractive force we observe as gravity. Remarkably, Vopson's calculations show that this entropic information force reproduces Newton's law of universal gravitation exactly. It's not a replacement for general relativity (which remains robustly tested), but rather a deeper, emergent explanation that could bridge gravity with quantum information concepts, black hole information paradoxes, and other areas where information already plays a key role. While the notion of a literal simulation remains highly speculative and unproven, this work adds an intriguing piece to the puzzle: gravity as an optimization routine in a universe that behaves suspiciously like a giant, efficiency-driven computer.
