Read the comments under my original post. You show them houses they can afford and they come up with spurious excuse after spurious excuse why they can't. Good God, these people. No wonder the country is doomed. Hardly anyone under about 40 wants to get off their bums and actually do anything to make their lives better. But they'll moan at pensioners. ๐

You can buy a nice little house like this in Suffolk with a 5% deposit of ยฃ6,000. Nationwide, Barclays and others are offering good deals for first time buyers with only a 5% deposit. But then you'd have to forego your gap year in the Far East and Antipodes or your fancy wedding. Poor you. Boo hoo. ๐คฃ

Pensioners will call you heartless for not wanting to fund the retirement they failed to prepare for, and then shrug when you ask them how we should pay for children.

How many women like me were forced to work part-time when their kids were young because there was no free child care, breakfast or after-school clubs then? Pin money hardly gave us chance to build a pension pot so excuse me if I donโt feel guilty about drawing my state pension.

Younger generation to pensioners: "Why didn't you save more into a private pension?" Because most women stayed at home to look after your mums and dads and so didn't earn anything, let alone save anything. And your granddads were struggling to pay the 14% mortgage rates. And any 'pin' money your nans earned from little part time jobs was spent spoiling you on days out at the seaside, birthdays and Christmas and slipping your mum and dad a few quid on the sly when they were a bit hard up. Just so you know.

We need to look after our elderly, they paid vast amounts of NI & no one told them it was a political Ponzi scheme. This country needs to cut regulation to the bone, reduce the size of the state & go after the 8 million on benefits.
