We also see her united with the infant Church in persevering prayer (Acts 1:14): “All these were persevering with one mind in prayer with the women, and Mary the mother of Jesus, and with his brethren.” Mary’s intercession flows entirely through Christ, the one Mediator (Hebrews 12:24), yet her prayers are uniquely powerful because of her singular grace and closeness to her Son. In summary, asking Mary and the saints for intercession is not an addition to Scripture but a direct application of it. The Bible reveals a living, praying Church that spans heaven and earth. The saints—especially the “just made perfect” and Mary, full of grace—offer our prayers to God with perfect charity and power. Far from detracting from Christ, this magnifies His work in the one Body, where “if one member suffers, all suffer together; if one member is honored, all rejoice together” (1 Corinthians 12:26).
