A Message to Our Neighbors from Councilor Sue AnderBois: Good morning. In light of the tragic event that unfolded yesterday afternoon at Brown University, I am inviting the greater community to gather at Lippitt Memorial Park tonight at 5 p.m. Security measures will be in place to ensure a safe space for all attendees. What was initially going to be a holiday celebration will now serve as an opportunity for us to come together and support one another as we reflect, mourn, and hold each other close as family, friends, and neighbors. We will not let this horrific act weaken the bonds that make Providence such a strong and special place to call home. Thank you to our public safety officials who have worked throughout the night. The shelter in place has been lifted for the Brown University campus and adjacent neighborhoods.
