@champagne20time @ToBeHeroXQueen @secretsofprivac @Polymarket Lol...comparing countries and territories with less than 10M people to 350M is wild even for internet standards. Also...the poverty line in the US is much higher than the poverty line in China...$14,891 is poverty in the US, but it's 2.3X the global average. Statistics are fun

@ToBeHeroXQueen @secretsofprivac @Polymarket It’s funny that you focus on the few ultra-rich billionaires when looking at this graph (a group you’re not part of), and not the 40 mil Americans under the poverty line. Wealth inequality in the USA is similar to China andTurkey, far behind Europe. Check the Gini Coefficient.

NEW: Outrage has broken out after Pope Leo appeared to quote Jesus using a passage that does not exist in the Bible. “Jesus told us, ‘Blessed are the peacemakers, but woe to those who manipulate religion in the very name of God for their own military, economic, or political gain, dragging that which is sacred into darkness and filth.’” The first line echoes scripture. The rest does not appear in any biblical passage. The Pope is being accused of using a fabricated quote from Jesus to push a political message.

@NetroverseX @FinancialPhys This guy can't math properly. Gross profit is not net profit. And every dollar amount "annually" he mentions is actually a one-time payment, not every year.

@FinancialPhys So they were working in a single warehouse that had 500 million in product, and they don’t pay enough for people to live? Bringing in billions in profit is wild and not wanting to pay. 1 billion is 1000 million dollars.

@ClaytonTuckerTX You don't know how tax incentives work. You see, tax only exists when the business exists. No data center, no taxes. Texas isn't losing anything, Texas is creating decades worth of construction and manufacturing jobs, and RE taxes in YR11.

Texas will lose $3.2 billion in tax breaks to data centers. Big Tech takes the gold, we get the bill. Instead of giving handouts to megacorps who take our land & water, we should invest in restoring local family farms.

The ice is finally breaking, and I am truly hopeful. In the past two days, two of my friends who were diehard supporters of Trump called me and said they were wrong. One of them told me his trucking business is falling apart because of Trump's immigration policy, tariffs, and high fuel costs. He was disappointed that Trump did not deliver on his promises. He said he would not vote for Trump if he had known then what he knows now. My second friend asked me for forgiveness. He said he had been deceived by the promises Trump made to Christians. He even compared Trump to Putin and added that he now understands how the antichrist could deceive believers. I had a really good conversation with both of them. I was not angry. Honestly, I never thought this day would come, when eyes would open and the ice would begin to break. So yes, I am hopeful.

@Jesse5547076793 @zivjelee @RyanLostinTX Shit, my bad...are they not under their 2nd investigation in two years? If Christians were twice being investigated for excluding Muslims, would I still be a dumbfuck?

Feels like there has been a huge uptick in Islamophobic posting regarding Texas lately. Like it’s a astroturfed effort with midterms coming up. Just an observation.

@zivjelee @Panthernip27 @RyanLostinTX Dude...they tried it to make it exclusive, the DOJ said you can't do that. They said okay. DOJ forced them to change their marketing materials...which means they tried. Now switched to a lottery system that favors Muslims. How dense do you gotta be to not see the intent?

@zivjelee @Panthernip27 @RyanLostinTX And, no, the DOJ did not "drop the case" after finding nothing...they moved on after the developers promised to change their marketing materials, essentially the, "My bad," defense. And then came up with a lottery version instead.

@PacoBellGrande @Panthernip27 @RyanLostinTX Send me the specific link. I want to see the source you're getting your info from. You're making the claim. I think it's warranted you back it up. DOJ found nothing and dropped their case. Only Republican leaders have been pushing it because bigotry is low hanging fruit.

@zivjelee @Panthernip27 @RyanLostinTX Google "Dallas Meadow Fair Housing Act" They were already investigated by the DOJ, played dumb, said my bad, we won't break any laws moving forward, then proceeded with a lottery system that favored Muslims. Now under investigation by HUD. They'll keep trying to skirt the law.

@zivjelee @Panthernip27 @RyanLostinTX My bad, didn't realize you lived in Dallas the last several years. They got busted planning lower prices for Muslims, that's illegal. You don't have to put a sign up that says no whities allowed for it to be illegal. Their intent, always, was Muslim-only.

@PacoBellGrande @Panthernip27 @RyanLostinTX There was never any plans to create a "Muslim-only" community. It was Muslim centered, but not forbidden for non-Muslims. That was also part of the anti-Muslim hysteria that has been being pushed lately. Muslims, like Christians, come in all varieties.

@Microinteracti1 Lol, FIFA way overestimated the US's local interest when they set the ticket prices. I live in a host city, make a great living, and I'm not even interested in paying $1,500 each for shitty seats...can't imagine the people traveling overseas.

The United States is so toxic on the world stage right now that it can’t fill hotels or sell World Cup tickets. Let that land. FIFA projected $30.5 billion in economic impact from millions of international visitors. That demand never showed up. Hotels in Atlanta, Dallas, Miami, Philadelphia and San Francisco have slashed match-day rates by a third from their peak. FIFA has cancelled tens of thousands of reserved rooms across all 16 host cities. Some hotels report cancellation rates above 95%. The reasons aren’t hard to find. Anti-American sentiment. Fear of border crossings. The Iran war driving up oil prices and airfares. And tickets priced into the stratosphere, with finals seats hitting $10,990 a pop. Industry executives are now openly blaming the Trump administration for the shortfall. Tourism economists say the Iran war made an already bad sentiment problem worse. Empty stadiums are now a real possibility. It happened at the Club World Cup last summer. It could happen again, on American soil, at the biggest sporting event on the planet. The White House says this will be “the greatest World Cup ever.” The market disagrees. Gandalv / @Microinteracti1
