Did Jordan Peterson get DESTROYED during his debate with 20 atheists on Jubilee? As a mentor to many young men, myself included, Peterson has spent years trying to renew interest in Christianity as the moral tradition of a West at war with itself. But he doesn't publicly call himself a Christian while doing so. As a scientist, Peterson knows Christianity has yet to be proven by empirical means. That's why, in humility, he defends Christianity as mythology, for its moral consequences. But he cannot say it is true. And so, by acting as a gladiator for Christianity in the theatre of public debate, Peterson puts himself in a double bind: He occupies the role of a Christian apologist in a debate while being unable to affirm Christianity's truth claims because he shares a doubtful epistemology with its atheist critics. It's why the smug, passive-aggressive participant in the Jubilee debate could back Jordan into a corner: because cultural defences of Christianity will not convince the chestless men of liberal materialism.

@Sargon_of_Akkad Some people are born with a genuine gender dysmorphia. Being born in the wrong body is just a metaphor for that experience. Don’t be daft. I agree that gender politics has gone too far, but your pettiness doesn’t help either.

Materialists are not metaphysically equipped for the consequences of declaring that people can be born in the wrong body. They would need to explain what and where a person was before their embodiment, and it would end up sounding remarkably like a soul existing in heaven. This would give them theological commitments that would reveal their beliefs not to be grounded in science, but in religion.

Nobody is born in the wrong body. You don't occupy someone else's body, nor are you entitled to a different one. You have one body and your mind is a part of it. You should come to terms with the way nature made you. #TransDayOfVisibility
