As a European issuer it is great to see that the UK is trying to move forward on solving stablecoin regulation. However as our CEO commented in the @InvestorsObserv article today: "the proposed £10 million cap will make it difficult for large corporates to use stablecoins efficiently for treasury or capital management.”

The UK just moved closer to stablecoin regulation, but critics say it’s still a step behind 🇬🇧 The Bank of England kept its £20,000 cap for individuals and £10 million for businesses, raising concerns about competitiveness with the US, where no such limits exist. Tom Duff Gordon (@tomduffgordon), Coinbase VP of international policy, warned the cap is “bad for UK savers, bad for the City, and bad for sterling.” With British pound stablecoins making up less than 0.1% of global issuance, is the BOE fighting a problem that doesn’t exist?
