NEW: Florida teacher arrested after he taught a 13-year-old girl Morse Code so he could communicate with her, dates her mother so he could have access to the teen.
41-year-old Daniel Le Lievre is accused of grooming and r*ping her, according to police.
After about four months of dating the girl's mother, Le Lievre said he only dated her so he could get closer to the daughter.
On Christmas Day in 2023, the girl says she was told to remove her clothes before Le Lievre assaulted her on the bathroom floor. The alleged r*pe lasted for 10 minutes.
According to reports, Le Lievre changed the girl's schedule at Tuskawilla Middle School so she could be in his class.
"Detectives said the mother caught Le Lievre talking to her daughter on the phone in the middle of the night multiple times and holding her hands at Disney Springs," WCAX reported.
Le Lievre is being held without bond.

@JackPosobiec It is fascinating to watch conservatives complain about the personhood of the unborn while they actively fight to ensure those same children have zero rights or citizenship the moment they are actually born

@even_steven8tht Fascinating you have no concept of economics and incentives

America is such a fascinating place because this man is providing a service that actually materially benefits people, arguably what the government is designed to do, and you will still see articles upon articles trying to convince you he’s actually doing a bad thing.

I get the frustration, hearing about fraud while you’re trying to do everything right hits a nerve. But it’s worth separating the emotion from the conclusion.
Fraud in public programs is a real problem because it wastes resources and erodes trust. The fix there is tighter controls, better auditing, and actual accountability, so the system works for the people paying into it.
Where it gets off track is tying that frustration to “newcomers” as a group. Most people, regardless of background, aren’t committing fraud, and broad-brushing it that way just creates division without solving the underlying issue.
The core point still stands: when systems feel unfair, people lose trust. The solution isn’t blame, it’s making sure the incentives, enforcement, and transparency are strong enough that abuse is the exception, not the headline.

Imagine you are a working father living in the Midwest, you make 75k a year. You can support your family, but you're not rich. You worry about paying for college. Then you read about some Somalian stealing $1m out of federal healthcare programs.
$1 million for the normal guy would eliminate an enormous amount of his stress. The college thing would be covered. Retirement wouldn't appear so daunting. It's why guys like this buy lottery tickets. And instead he pays into the system and watches "newcomers" make a complete ass out of him. This fraud is bad financially, but it just makes a mockery of all the hard work of normal people and tears away at the social fabric.

@pnester89 @Pro__Trading If you think that’s the dumbest thing you ever read you’ve never done much reading. Or thinking.

@BernieSanders Explain what qualifies someone for a “wealth tax”???????? Ambiguous
English

Ok, Jamie: Let me clear things up for you.
If my 5% wealth tax on billionaires was enacted you’d owe $135 million more in taxes & a family of 4 making $150,000 or less would receive a $12,000 payment.
Oh, and you’d still be worth more than $2.5 billion. Seems pretty fair to me.

@SportsCenter Great commentary, sportscenter account. Embarrassing. Know your role and don’t kick a kid when he’s down in a public forum

@LostFederalist @WomanDefiner Yeah right. I’ll believe it when I see it.
English

@WomanDefiner While activist judges are a problem. I don’t think this is one of those cases necessarily. A year may be a very very short time for this type of crime.
However, this is a high profile case. Which means bro is a 🐀 100% Big money cases will usually get let off light if you snitch
English

It's so crazy to watch people who don't belong here get slaps on the wrist for crimes that used to be a decade or 2 in prison. I bet they didn't even confiscate the ill gotten gains.

@WomanDefiner insane. And to feel helpless as a law abiding citizen with actual responsibilities like a family and a job I value. It’s the worst.

I hate that the US is so attached to this 2-parent household nuclear family bs. Mothers are miserable this way and always have been. It was never as beneficial as it was marketed. Women were drugging themselves to get through the day.
Become neighbors with your best friend. Co-parent with your cousin. Alternate weekends with a school mom. Idgaf. But think of something else outside of thinking your marriage alone is enough support for you, your spouse, and your children.
