@CDDUSK1 I never understood what the problem was that people had with the movie; it was just as good as the show from what I remember. It would be great if the show could get a revival, or a reboot with new characters and character dynamics could also work.

@RANK10YGO I think it's because it's usually analog horror series that, while audience participation doesn't affect the story, the audience often has to do some sleuthing to get all of the story. Like having to go frame by frame in a video, turning on captions, or finding privated vids.

Why do people keep calling creepypastas/horror webseries "ARGs" even when they have zero audience involvement whatsoever

@APPictures9 UPA's rights could have easily run out a long time ago. But yeah, this post was always either intentionally trying to mislead people or went to a crazy level in regard to including stuff that was referenced maybe one time ever as a possibility.

Also, since UPA’s catalog (outside the Columbia theatrical cartoons) currently belongs to DreamWorks, that means Gerald McBoing-Boing would be a DreamWorks movie, not a Warner Bros one. Dr. Seuss may have created Gerald, but that doesn’t mean Seuss Enterprises owns him.

@arttavana Disney actually CAN'T make a Roger Rabbit sequel now, or at least not making a new deal for one. The author of the original Roger Rabbit books got the rights back around a couple years ago and has been shopping them around.

The reason Disney will likely never make a Roger Rabbit sequel is so depressing...

@TheJakeChristie Arguably the best option would be to sell out, but get a deal where you have no noncompete clause, so you can take the money and then just immediately start a new website that does basically the same thing while advertising that it's from the creators of the original site.

Exhausted that has found new meanings for me. I’m so tired all the time. I feel like Frodo at the end of Return of the King when he says “I can’t recall the taste of food, nor the sound of water, nor the touch of grass.” But I got updates. We’re going to see this through the very end. You have the patience of Kings and Queens. Thank you. We updated an additional 7,000 tracking info a few days ago. We get these at the top of each week. We’re entering the order numbers in the #40,000’s I can see the light at the end of the tunnel. Yes, tracking comes a bit later because we’re doing things manually because of the two different systems from MacMillian and us. Once we’re done, we’re going to do a whole round of replacements. We just have to get through the 1st round shipments. We’re 85% to 90% done with shipping on our end. Now shipping is different than receiving, the new wondrous wrinkle we’re seeing is customs, lots of novels are sitting in customs, I guess some laws have changed on July 1st. This is something I can’t control and I know nothing about as well. It’s been awesome to see so many get the novel across the world. Appreciate the continued patience. There so much I want to discuss and post once we’re all done. I’m not posting any spoilers or anything until we get all the novels out but also until people read the novel. And then I got a whole wave of things I have ready to post. It’s been so awesome to hear almost everyone say they are re-watching the show before the dive into the book. Daz is working on the 2nd expansion part. It’s looking great. Onwards! -O

@HoboWaluigi The anti-AI crowd's problem is that they're so anti-AI that they've refused to do any research whatsoever into what they're talking about and most of them even now still think it's just "type a prompt and it's done" when there's been better stuff than that for a while now.

AI was never a threat to artists, because it would never look good. But now it does look good because we didn't take it seriously and let it fester into this mold

@Mortiel This, 100%. The two things that would immediately fix almost every issue with copyright are: 1) Add a continued use requirement where an IP holder has to keep a work reasonably available to the public to keep the copyright.

At least return it to its original form: You get a few years head start on everyone because you made something novel. After that, everyone else is free to mimic your idea, mass produce cheap copies or make a higher quality artisanal selection. It keeps us focused on innovating.

The physical vs digital debate keeps getting framed the wrong way. It’s not really about discs taking up space or downloads being more convenient. It’s about whether you actually own what you pay for.Physical media = you own it. You can play it, sell it, lend it, or leave it on a shelf for 30 years. No account, no internet, no company can reach in and take it back . Digital = you own nothing. You’re granted a revocable license. One that can be (and has been) revoked when a server shuts down, a company goes bankrupt, an account gets banned, or they simply decide to delist the thing you “bought.” That’s the actual conversation.

@the_Bradster007 Yeah, I've heard that before; I just don't understand why it's not allowed. Like, maybe make the theatre give some percent of whatever they get from selling it back to the studio, but there's no point just trashing it.

@RandomWordsGuy I don’t know about other theater companies, but the one that I work for, we are not allowed to sell them or give them out to the public. Us employees are allowed to take what we want from them, but then we have to destroy and throw away the rest.

As somebody who works at a movie theater, this is pretty normal. Typically we’ll take down a standee of a movie after opening weekend.

@T0rch_Light What Miyamoto said was taken out of context and misunderstood. He talked about the movie being built around segments that were a few minutes long, but it's obvious that all he meant by that was the fact that the movie swaps back and forth between subplots.

There were literally like 3 whole interviews Miyamoto had after the release of galaxy where he reveals HE PURPOSEFUL paced the movie like shit because "kids run around the theater not paying attention if the movie isn't always moving" something along those lines, he is the issue.
