@AraqWeyr Have you traveled outside of Russia? When I'm in Russia and people know I'm from California, USA they are shocked. Most Russians I meet have a very positive opinion about America. But for those who've been to the US, the opinions are mixed. Some love it. Others prefer Russia. It's like I said, everywhere has pros and cons. And they're based on the person. The US can be better in some ways, but the cost of living here is way more expensive. My daughter was born in Russia and I feel like the level of education is much better there. She's already more advanced intellectually than her peers here in the US. That's just one example. Another important factor is good quality. In the US it's very easy to get fat because of the poor quality of food and lazy lifestyle. Sure there are fat people in Russia, but on average you are far less than in the US. There are other pros and cons, but hopefully you understand my point. I stay in Penza when I visit Russia -- we have an apartment and car there -- by the way, so it's not like I'm only experiencing the Moscow lifestyle.

Russia suffered similar effects to having lost a real war. Their economy tanked, their government was overthrown, there were riots, an attempted coup, and other ill effects. The USSR literally broke up - they lost Ukraine, Byelorus, the Caucasus, Uzbekistan and the other "stans", the Baltic States. What they did NOT suffer was massive loss of life and wanton demolishing of industry. So it was better than a real war, but it hurt them. If they'd given in earlier, the bad effects would have been less, just as if German in WW1 or WW2 had sought peace a couple of years earlier. These same ill effects weren't seen in the tributary states such as Poland or Romania, because they saw the end of the Cold War as a liberation - again, just as in a real war. So it was a war. The best kind of war because we didn't have to lose millions of lives and neither did they. But the stakes were just as high as a real war, and the USSR suffered from its loss, and deservedly so. It was a terrible system. I hate Putin's Russia but there is absolutely no doubt his Russia is more benign than the old USSR.

@AraqWeyr @SandyofCthulhu Disagree here. I've been living in and out of Russia since 2019. And I've also lived and worked from 37 other countries. Everywhere has its pros/cons. Saying it's "not a good country to live in" isn't accurate from my personal experiences.

@levelsio Maybe change prices based on the time of money. Only $1 to join on the first day (or week) of the month for example, then $99 other days. $99 subs get a special badge or something.

I've dropped price close to ~$1 to get the community to 1000 new members per month and then will change the business model to sponsorships The problem is if you price it fairly (like $99) you get 200 people per month, so you limit the community growth

The concept of money is changing not just for me personalpy, but globally. The USD is especially going through a transition -- it is becoming both less and more important. Many people in the US don't need to work to make money. There are so many government programs that offer an above-average quality of life when compared to how people live outside the US. This in addition to AI and robotics will eventually make working optional. Yet if you want to make any significant changes in your personal life or the lives of others, you need money. From building companies to investing in assets that provide value for your family, money is 100% required.

@SandyofCthulhu Times have changed. As someone who's been living in both Russia and the US since 2019, what you get for what you pay is higher in Russia. This of course is based on the USD to RUB ratio.

My friend who lived in Moscow from 1950 to 1991 told me that almost everyone in Moscow lived in small apartments, three generations in the same apartment. Up to 10-12 people. And these apartments were smaller than the apartment he now lived in with his wife in Maryland. He was in the process of buying a townhouse and to him it was inconceivable luxury. "No in-laws? No uncles & aunts? Paradise." So the apartment might have had a kitchen like that, but it would have had a mattress in the corner for the 12-year old nephew to sleep on.

These are some of those weak spots in Crimson Desert IMO. HOW THE HELL WAS I SUPPOSED TO KNOW HOW TO DO THIS?! The game wants me to expand my base. Any other game, you'd have a tutorial pop up on how to do it as this has never been asked before. But these devs said nah. 😑

Only been in the US for a week and already feeling sluggish, overweight, and fatigued. It's insane how much here the food here affects your health. Food here is tasty... but not filling. I'm getting hungry more often. Back in Russia, I would go for 4+ hours before feeling hungry and even then, I wasn't craving food. Here in the US, it takes ~2 hours before I feel like snacking. The best solution I've found is to stay occupied with something. If I'm busy, I'm not eating.

Everyone's making a dungeon crawler now. I see 3-5 new ones a day on my feed.
