@WallStreetMav My agent was helpful. True he didn't have to take me to a ton of showings or anything because I found what I wanted fairly quickly, but he did manage all the paperwork and process.

I am shocked that real estate agents still exist. They provide no useful help in the process. People do their own searching via Zillow or Redfin or other online websites. All of the closing work is done by title company. The 6% real estate commission is dead.

I just saw something that genuinely surprised me. Apparently in some American supermarkets, they’re putting anti-theft alarm tags on packages of meat — especially expensive cuts like steak. So if you try to walk out without paying, the alarm goes off at the exit. Is this actually a thing now? Do they really need to do this with meat? I’m honestly shocked. Has it gotten that bad over there?

The two kids who had already been exposed to them ignored it, the others did basically everything wrong. (Parents were watching on cctv).

In Japan, if you sing badly at karaoke, people will politely clap and say, "You have a unique style." They protect you from embarrassment. In Texas, I destroyed "Livin' on a Prayer" at a bar. I didn't just sing it badly. I attacked it. The key I sang in has not been discovered by science. Bon Jovi felt a disturbance and didn't know why. Halfway through, a woman at the bar stood up and started singing the chorus with me. Then her friends joined. Then the bartender, while making a drink. A guy raised his beer and yelled, "SOMEBODY CALL BON JOVI. TELL HIM WE'RE SORRY." In the back corner, one old man kept playing pool. He never looked up. Not once. By the last chorus, the entire bar was screaming "WHOA, WE'RE HALFWAY THERE" and I was just holding the mic like a decoration. Someone was recording on their phone. When it ended, a big guy punched my shoulder and said, "Brother, you didn't sing that song. You sacrificed it. And we accepted the sacrifice." I got a free beer. For singing badly. The worst singing of my life gave me the best night of my life.
