@HuduHussein ,Are you really in your right state of mind? If the government truly doesn’t support day care centres, then why has it never issued a single policy to guide their operationalisation? You can’t claim zero support yet also fail to provide regulation. The truth is simple: it's the people within the government who own these daycare centers and that's why nothing can be done about it. @nbstv

But @nbstv and @mtnug, honestly, how many times has Awilo Longomba performed in Uganda? At this point, should we assume that @AwiloLongomba and @Koffi0lomide are the most affordable options on your booking list? There is a whole wave of new Congolese artists who are massive crowd‑pullers across the region. Meanwhile, you keep recycling the same two names. Yes, we respect their legacy and acknowledge their prime years, but unless the target audience for this show is our grandparents, this lineup feels outdated. Ugandans are ready for fresh faces, fresh energy, and artists who reflect the current sound of Congo. This habit of bringing back the same acts over and over is tired. We deserve better.

@MordecaiMuriisa, Iam sure the Minister has indeed been briefed, but given the gravity of the incident, she has to first gather full reports from the responsible governement agencies. It is important that her response is comprehensive and accurate, rather than rushed. A statement will be issued soon, once all the facts have been consolidated, to ensure the public receives clarity and reassurance. @JanetMuseveni @JCMuyingo
Mordecai Muriisa ™️@MordecaiMuriisa

Has the minister of education been informed about the tragic events of yesterday at a childcare center in Gaba. Where’s her statement? Now those who worship kataaha will read this as an insult. You have to just feel sorry for them.

@933kfm, someone should tell this Uwase that if narrow and shallow mind to think that a man’s worth is measured only by how many bills he pays. True partnership is about responsibility, respect, and shared vision. Provision is important, yes, but reducing manhood to money alone ignores the deeper role of integrity, emotional support, and leadership in building a lasting home. If we are to talk about the role of a man, let’s speak of accountability, love, and character, not just financial obligation.

@nbstv ,Uganda’s public debt rising to a time of UGX 126 trillion, only translates to ,UGX 2.8m per citizen. Continuous external borrowing without tackling corruption worsens debt sustainability. Poor Ugandans shoulder the repayment burden while elites capture the benefits. Fiscal discipline and accountability must come first.

The Katikkiro of @BugandaKingdom_ is the Prime Minister, heading the political, administrative, and business wing of the kingdom. His office is the executive hub where governance, partnerships, and development projects are coordinated. He is not the custodian of cultural rituals, that role belongs to the Kabaka and cultural institutions. Therefore don't expect people on business appointments to be forced to wear Buganda traditional attire. So bear in mind that the delegation was on a business visit to Katikiro not the King. That's when the issue of their dress code would be something to point out. @AshabaFaridah

I am conflicted about this because i feel it is important to respect other people’s cultures and traditions. Even if you don’t hold the same beliefs, one day of wearing a skirt to show respect wouldn’t hurt. But what do i know 🤷🏿‍♀️

Some people can show up in trousers in Kabaka’s territory & meeting moves smoothly. Kudos to the kingdom leadership for a progressive, open-minded outlook👏

On invitation of Rt. Hon. @RebeccaKadagaUG , the 1st Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of East African Community Affairs, and current Chairperson of the Council of @jumuiya Ministers, Uganda today convened a high‑level consultative meeting to address the long‑standing impasse arising from the killing of three geologists and UPDF soldiers in Lopita Sub County, Moroto District, in 2022. The meeting, held at the Ministry Headquarters on the 2nd Floor of the Kingdom Kampala Building, brought together senior government officials from the justice, defence, security, and regional affairs sectors. The session served as a strategic platform to harmonize Uganda’s position ahead of continued bilateral engagements with Kenya. Participants reviewed progress made so far, assessed existing gaps, and aligned on Uganda’s technical and diplomatic approach. The discussions underscored the importance of coordinated action, accurate information-sharing, and a unified national position as the two countries work toward closure and long-term stability. As Chairperson of the Council of EAC Ministers, Rt. Hon. Kadaga emphasized the regional significance of the process, noting that constructive dialogue between Uganda and Kenya strengthens the broader East African Community’s commitment to peaceful dispute resolution and cross‑border cooperation. Officials from the Attorney General’s chambers, the Ministry of Defence and Veteran Affairs, the Ministry of Karamoja Affairs, and the Internal and External Security Organizations contributed technical 1drv.ms/w/c/22b552e69f… 📸 @RealBishopsam

Minister for @meaca_ug and First Deputy Prime Minister, Rt. Hon. Rebecca Kadaga, has stepped forward to champion peace and unity in Tororo, following the President @KagutaMuseveni's directive issued during the commissioning of Devki Steel Mill. At a stakeholder meeting held this afternoon at Kingdom Kampala, Kadaga convened clan representatives, local leaders, and residents to engage in constructive dialogue aimed at resolving longstanding divisions. Framing the gathering as a turning point rather than a routine consultation, she emphasized reconciliation, community cohesion, and a shared path toward sustainable development. Residents of Utro A and B in Kasipodo Parish, Kayoro Sub-county, were invited to voice their perspectives and contribute to a durable, community-owned solution. The initiative underscored inclusivity, local wisdom, and accountability as pillars for progress. With continued engagement and goodwill, Tororo has an opportunity to move beyond disputes and model a culture of dialogue, resilience, and unity, setting a standard for communities across Uganda.

@HEBobiwine, while you speak of being shielded by the people of Uganda and assisted by unnamed security personnel, such sweeping claims deserve scrutiny. Uganda’s citizens are diverse in their views, and it is misleading to suggest unanimous support. Equally, citing anonymous regime insiders without evidence weakens the credibility of your narrative. Leadership requires clarity and accountability, not romanticized generalities. If we are to discuss Uganda’s future, let us ground our arguments in verifiable facts and inclusive realities, rather than broad assertions that risk dividing rather than uniting our people. @Sudhirntv

Most importantly, the people of Uganda shielded me. Everywhere I would go, the common people risked their lives and families to house me, to feed me, and to clothe me, and to accommodate me. Most importantly, I had assistance from security people that I will not mention, from within the regime, who are not in agreement with the way our country is being run.

The creeping adoption of practices that are neither democratic nor enshrined in the NRM constitution is deeply troubling. Such customs, rooted in selfishness and the denial of fair competition, erode the very foundation of participatory politics. When contestants are denied the chance to vie for positions, it signals the onset of a cancer within the democratic process of the @NRMOnline , a party that ought to set the pace for openness and fairness. @mukulaa

In affirmation of the enduring tradition of two terms for the Speaker, I proudly endorse Rt Hon Annita Annette Among (MP) as Speaker of Parliament and Rt Hon Thomas Tayebwa as Deputy Speaker. Their stewardship shall embody dignity, respect, and unwavering service to our nation

@SabitiJoseph, I’m curious, how exactly do you know that the caucus will endorse @AnitahAmong ? Have they already bribed the newly elected MPs to guarantee that outcome? And let’s be clear: there is no law that Hon. @norbertmao is breaking by offering himself for the Speakership. At the same time, I want you to enlighten me, what miraculous path to the Mao Speakership are you seeing that defies all prevailing circumstances?

The minister for Justice and constitutional affairs will be among many other ministers and Government officials making presentations to the caucus in Kyankwanzi, and, all things constant, that Caucus will deliver a thunderous endorsement for @AnitahAmong and @Thomas_Tayebwa. I want my senior brother, Tim, to enlighten me about this miraculous path to the Mao Speakership that defies all prevailing circumstances!

Good political analysis. In summary, M7 wants to dump Among, but in a way that his hand is not visible and if she appeals to him, he can claim he endorsed her, but the will of the NRM party prevailed.
