I have spent a good part of my career just getting people to believe this was actually happening. Now we are here. With 15 drones, you can lose roughly 1/4 of the B-52 force as it sits idle on the ground. This was always the most concerning scenario. Time to move to hardening. Just a matter of time now till we learn the hard way.

Trump's biggest problem (besides risking getting American service members killed in large numbers) is that he can't tweet destroyed $20B energy hubs (which take years to build) back into existence once they get destroyed.

We actually did this - replaced Salesforce with software we built in house.
It took two engineers about half their time for maybe a month to replace everything we used Salesforce for.
No “custom AWS architecture” lol.
Saved us like a quarter million dollars per year.

Just had a ride in the NVIDIA autonomous vehicle. I could argue that the Tesla is slightly smoother, but that is missing the point. The point I learned this week by hanging out with a bunch of different companies building autonomous vehicles is that AI at a variety of different companies is evolving so quickly that within 18 months you will see a bunch of different ones shipping and moving from level two (gotta pay attention) to level four (no human needed). Now the narrative will switch to one of scale. Uber went from an idea in a Paris snow storm to an international company driving people who live in slums in South Africa in four years. My expectation is that AVs will reach the slum in less time. Will it be a USA based company like Tesla? Or a Chinese company that reaches the slum (hence meaning it will reach at least 25% of humans on earth in between) first? We now will switch to one of convincing people AVs are a better way to get around than having humans drive. Regulation. Liability. Butts in seats. Experience. Price. And to all the engineers who worked in these things for 20 years: thank you. Your efforts will save millions of lives so my kids won’t have to go to more funerals when they are my age. Seven years ago @IrenaCronin and I wrote it is coming in our book. It took a while but it is finally here. Now the hard work of convincing every naysayer and hater is here.

Here are a few words of caution:
I did a major de-grossing in the portfolio last week.
We are still likely several weeks away from having all U.S. military assets in place for a naval and ground invasion of the Strait of Hormuz / Kharg Island.
The likely result of such an attack is that Tehran will blow up as much oil and gas infrastructure as possible in the Persian Gulf countries, sending the energy crisis to a whole new level of pain—one that can't easily be remedied.
Iran doesn't have to win here in an absolute sense, it just has to make everyone else lose so much that it pushes the world economy into a deep depression. If Tehran has more ballistic missiles, launchers, and drones than previously reported by intel sources, things could turn ugly very fast.
Just this week, Iran inflicted $20B worth of damage to a single facility (which cost $26B to build) with their missiles. If they can repeat that in the coming weeks against other vital energy hubs, the bottom will fall out of the market like a dropped knife.
I don't know who needs to hear this, but if you're heavily levered—especially if you're net long—you really should rethink your strategy until the worst of this is over.

You CANNOT get to Kharg Island with Marines until you successfully transit the Strait of Hormuz ... which the IRGC will make a living hell with sea mines, suicide boat drones, missiles and aerial drones
Once past the SOH its a 20-24 hour dash (380nm) to Kharg along a coast that may be firing off antiship missiles, ballistic hypersonic missiles, cruise missiles small boats and suicide drones of all sorts, aerial, surface and subsurface.
Then they can just blow up the islands refineries when you arrive so you have to live in a town of 8,000 who hate you in a cloud of poisonous smoke/gas
