Dear Woke Leftist Activists In Kids Animation, For ten years you have been running this industry. You've been hired for your immutable characteristics, cultural background, gender identity, etc. You've gleefully enjoyed a Hollywood landscape with DEI's thumb on the hiring scale, eliminating most straight white males from competing with you. After a decade of this, the industry is in ruins. Jobs are more scarce than ever. And the town and country's appetite and tolerance for your woke bullshit and victimhood status that you have made your entire brand is no longer in fashion. Over the years, I have sat in so many meetings with you arrogant, vile, hate-filled racists/sexists spewing anti-white, anti-male garbage. You were all so comfortable saying this stuff. Patting yourselves on the back for shoving your woke religion into every single show. Know this: If you are an artist, designer, writer, EP, director or executive on a kids animated show at any major studio in LA, I very likely know who you are. And I am coming for you. This is a very, very small industry. And I'm going to do everything I can to make every major studio know your names and know that employing you is a risk and a liability they can't afford to take on. If you're having trouble finding work now, you're about to have way more trouble finding work. This is a promise. #CancelNetflix

Dwayne Johnson says “real masculinity” means supporting warrior women like Moana at #CinemaCon: “The hero of our story is not a princess, she’s a warrior. All men of all ages, we should empower and support and champion all women. That’s what real masculinity looks like.” Johnson also highlights the importance of the live-action movie: “The animated version was just an amazing experience for us as Polynesian people. Maui has been with me for over a decade, and to have the opportunity to bring this powerful and vulnerable demigod to life means so much to me." variety.com/2026/film/news…

Hexed is going to be Disney’s next original animated story. #CinemaCon It follows Billie, a teenager who discovers that she has witch powers and pursues them… while her mother doesn’t exactly love it. Hailee Steinfeld is Billie, Rashida Jones is Billie’s mother Alice.

@DisneyAnimation Couldn’t pick a worse title to win back the Christian/Catholic families (the ones that MAKE the children you need to make money) that figured out your company/artists literally, actively hate them and have avoided Disney for the last several years. Also China will HATE this.

@GraceRandolph Where's "The Marvels" and "Snow White" and "She-Hulk" and "Ecco" and Pakistani Peter Pan and Black "Little Mermaid?" Whenever I point out woke things lead to financial ruin I am scolded online and told they "did very well." Why aren't they in this infographic?

It's extremely funny that Disney spent literally billions of dollars to build Star Wars themed lands in their parks, specifically excluded the original characters because of Kathleen Kennedy's awful advice to Bob Iger, everybody hated it because nobody cares about Rey or Kylo Ren, and now after six years they're completely abandoning their original plan and bringing Han Solo and Princess Leia into Galaxy's Edge

@beneverard Why does production need to be in LA? I say this and I live here. Hollywood is not promised or owed anything. The business was built here but the people who inherited it voted for the politicians and policies that led to this. And they still vote for them knowing it.

Hollywood tip of the day. California and the federal government need to work together to bring production back to Hollywood. At the state level, CA needs to include above-the-line costs as rebatable under its incentive program. For those unfamiliar, ATL costs are fees for writers, directors, producers, & actors. Currently, CA excludes these costs. Competing jurisdictions allow this spend, which greatly impacts the financial viability of projects. At the federal level, a stackable rebate on top of local jurisdiction's incentive programs would open a flood gate of production back to the U.S. To be clear, the federal rebate would be state agnostic; a production in Georgia, New York, or California would get the same treatment. California simply needs to be competitive, it does not need to have the BEST incentive overall. The talent wants to work here. If California rebated ATL costs and the feds added a stacking rebate, Hollywood production would come roaring back.

Sydney Sweeney and American Eagle aren’t backing down. After last year’s viral backlash, the two are teaming up again for “Syd for Short,” a summer campaign centered on classic denim cutoffs and unapologetic confidence. The new drop leans into a more relaxed, everyday version of “Syd,” pairing effortless style with a message of self-expression, and even continuing their partnership with Crisis Text Line through designs that give back. Love it or hate it, it’s a clear signal: not every controversy leads to retreat, sometimes it just makes the brand go bigger.

@Woody56292 @Redtornado1234 Nah it's moreso bad/mid superhero fatigue, bad writing fatigue, slop fatigue and bad tv show/movie fatigue due to oversaturated low quality projects and provoked decisions that caused people to lose interest. People still care about the concept of SH just not when it's not good.

@miguel_4703 @wesburt Why ask me for a definition only to redefine it yourself? And it is not the only cause for loss of profit, it is one of several causes. If I thought it was the only cause I would be lying to myself just as if you think it is not one of the causes you are lying to yourself.

@Redtornado1234 @wesburt Can you explain how woke is toxic when most “woke” projects is just inclusion of members of minority groups ALONGSIDE majority groups and can you also give proof that “woke” is the specific cause of loss to profit because correlation doesn’t imply causation

@Redtornado1234 @wesburt oh so you are choosing to be stupid, got it. btw, movies are still profitable even when they leave theaters, be it merch sales, rentals, toys, clothes, dvd’s, or even watching them on streaming, almost all movies are profitable eventually

@Krimsin @wesburt Leftists never consider the consequences of their beliefs in action. Just shut down the economy! Just put gay in every movie - I love it so why shouldn’t china or Eastern Europe or South America? Who cares if the core audience is men? Women will show up to action movies, right?

@Krimsin @wesburt Who was in favor of shutting down movie theaters for years? Oh yes, the pronouns in bio people. Spending two years training audiences to stream helps make streaming more popular doesn’t it? And China largely rejects our films because they all have progressive western values.

I love James Gray. But unless he or any other artist is willing to work for free, and only get paid contingent on these "cultural investments" making money, then this is just advocating for spending other people's money to make your pet projects that there's not a real market for. But if everyone's working for free, what's the incentive to complete the work, especially if your name isn't James Gray? It's not your name that gets added to the top of the credits.
cinesthetic.@TheCinesthetic

James Gray argues that studios should be allowed to lose money on their art and specialty divisions, saying those films are cultural investments, not just profit centers.

@fringeblog While I know inflation is a factor, I can remember Water World costing $90M and they built a free-floating island set in the Pacific Ocean twice (first set was destroyed in a storm). Now everything's made in a soundstage and costs 3x as much. Ai following suit. Absurd.

@fringeblog Sure. I just think they should be more dynamic. Make 5 tentpole "not so risky" movies at $250 million each. And make 5 smaller films for $50 million (or less) each. If 1 of those 5 lower budget films hits, it makes up for the risk of the other 4.

@Redtornado1234 Horror offers terrific, perennially less risky fare, and there are obviously pictures being made in the $3-30M range that do great. But these aren't what studios are defining their yearly slates with. Every single one of those movies you mentioned was not generated by studios.
