An old lady used to cross the US-Mexico border every day on a 1000cc motorcycle... The guards, especially Officer Johnson, knew she was smuggling something. But, no matter what they did, they could never find it. Dogs wouldn't sniff anything, metal detectors wouldn't bleep, and disassembling the motorcycle wouldn't help. Many years later, on his last day at the job, once Johnson saw the old lady crossing, he decided to ask her. He approached and said, "I know there is something wrong, and I will do nothing. Back in junior high, my buddy had a big crush on this girl and was flirting with her nonstop. One day on a band trip they stopped at a gas station and she bought him a pack of gum. He tried to pay her back with a dollar but she refused and said, “No, it’s my treat!” So he waited until she wasn’t looking and slipped the dollar into her pocket. She found it and later snuck it into his backpack. And that’s how the Great Dollar War began. For months they kept passing the same $1 bill back and forth in the most ridiculous ways. He mailed it to her house in an envelope. She folded it into a gum wrapper and offered him a piece like it was normal. He hid it in her band folder. She taped it inside his math textbook. It became their whole thing. Eventually he decided to go big. He wrote “Will you go out with me?” on the dollar, put it in a little note, and gave it to her. She read it, smiled, and said yes. Fast forward four years. They’re still together. On their anniversary, he pulls out that same worn-out dollar and writes on the bottom: “Will you marry me?” She started crying right there. They’ve now been married for 15 years and have three awesome kids. They still have that same dollar stored away in a safe place. My friend turned a $1 bill into an entire love story that’s lasted almost two decades.

My friend told me about her ten year old son who is decorating his room America themed. I said, “why does he want to do that?” She said this year he learned a lot about the founding fathers and how America came about and he’s been super patriotic as of late. I said, “aw that’s so cool. I love it.” Then the ten year old walked up with his three year old brother and he said, “look yall, I taught him the founding fathers.” He asked the three year old, to tell us who they were. And in the sweetest voice and all the confidence in the world he said, “George Washington and John Adams” (they had only worked on two lol) But yall it was the cutest thing in the world! Raise your babies to love America! It’s great!! 🇺🇸💯

When I was 10, I won a Butterball turkey. We used to go inside to make the car payment, the first Friday of every month. I saw a sign that says to drop your name in the bowl for a drawing for a free car! Or a frozen turkey! They called Mama the next week- I had won! We took off! I excitedly went in and saw the fattest, biggest frozen turkey! I couldn't even wrap my arms around it. I learned that since I was only 10, they technically could not give it to me. I came back to the car empty-handed. Mama with a cigarette hanging out of her mouth, rollers in her hair, and a black purse, stuffed with old bills and peppermint candy she collected from the bank, barely hanging on her arm stomped right into the car dealership office. I sat in the car, watching them through the windows in the spaces between the "ZERO DOWN" words painted on them. She came out grinning with that fat turkey and a cigarette hanging on between her fingers as she held on. We had turkey that Thanksgiving!

You always see the wins on social media. Heres the other side. 20 inches of rain for me yesterday. 60+ mph wind gusts. A tornado close enough that I could see. Roads flooded over and washed out. Major highway shut down from flooding. Ive lost my entire crop. Everything is gone. No income from spring planting. Thousands of dollars in grow beds destroyed. Greenhouse destroyed. It'll take me 2-3 years to get back what I loss. Sometimes homesteading is unforgiving.

To the man in 2D, today you were flying from Orlando to Philly. I don’t know you, but I think you must have seen us somewhere. I was pushing a stroller, carrying a diaper bag, and also lugging an oxygen machine for my daughter. We were all smiles, heading to see her "friends" at CHOP (Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia). We boarded the plane early, got settled in our window seat, and joked with the people around us about sitting next to my yelling-but-happy baby. Then, the flight attendant came over and told me you were offering to switch seats. You were giving up your comfortable first-class seat for us. I couldn’t hold back the tears as I walked down the aisle, while my daughter Lucy giggled! She could feel the kindness too… real, pure goodness. I smiled and thanked you as we swapped seats but didn’t get the chance to thank you properly. So... thank you. Not just for the seat, but for noticing us. For seeing that maybe things aren't always easy. For choosing to show us a random act of kindness. It reminded me how much good there is in the world. I can’t wait to tell Lucy about this someday. My daughter was the only one who got covid in 2020. End of 2020. I refused to take her to the hospital because of the way my own mother was treated and because I did not like the protocols. Instead I called the American Front Line Doctors. I had been doing research on Ivermectin and Hydroxychloroquine. Heard amazing reviews coming out of Africa. I then found out that pharmacies were being threatened and told to pull Ivermectin from the shelves. Doctors were getting their licenses revoked for prescribing it. I was able to get a script through the front line doctors and what used to be 4 dollars for a prescription, ended up being over 200 dollars. The price increased because everybody wanted what the government was forcing pharmacies to pull. Only mom and pop pharmacies still had it. We were lucky. This is what fauci, the cdc, and the who did. They should all be sitting their asses in GITMO.
