Amaravati Resolution Tabled in Andhra Assembly today Andhra CM @ncbn moved a Key Resoltion in the Andhra Pradesh Legislative Assembly on Saturday, urging the Union Government to grant statutory recognition to Amaravati as the official capital of the state. The special Assembly session was convened specifically to deliberate and pass this resolution. This resolution seeks suitable amendments to the Andhra Pradesh Reorganisation Act, 2014. Haha! This resolution shows @ncbn inability to get things done in Delhi, despite ‘controlling’ the levers of power. Anyway, this resolution means nothing except to show to the investors that Amaravati will remain the capital of AP, Can Central govt grant statutory recognition to a state capital ?

Any finality on the issue of Amaravati as capital of Andhra Pradesh would come NOT through legislative amendments BUT through consensus of all political parties & people belonging to all 3 regions. Whatever temporary statutory status this amendment will give, can be taken away in future if people of other two regions demand for 3 CAPITALS formula. It’s just an invitation to investors to fill TDP leaders coffers through CRDA corruption. Nothing more.
